Just youtube him because I never seen him play and he reminds me of the corners we have already. The one video had him against that OK.St reciever I don't know his name but he couldn't cover him. He had like 5 catches for 130 yards and 2tds. If you convert that to the NFL where every team has receivers like that and I think he's not a top 10 pick. I know that OKSt. receiver is prolly the best in college football. Opinions?

Agreed 100%! If we can't get Peterson I don't want a CB with the first round pick. Justin Blackmon is the Ok St receiver. He's got Dez like abilities. But you are right!

LOL..

A freakin Youtube highlight? Lol cue the video of Julio Jones catching first downs against Peterson in the Alabama/LSU game

There were 3 big passing plays in that video. The first one was an underthrown ball that Blackmon just made a great adjustment on. The second was a play action fake that Prince bit on and was forced to interfere with Blackmon to save the TD. That was probably his worst one. The third was a trick play flea flicker that I wouldn't expect most college DBs to have the discipline to not bite. On all pure passing plays, Prince was stride for stride with Blackmon in coverage.

In fact, I don't even think that was his worst game of the season. If you want to nitpick, he did far worse vs. Oklahoma's #3 WR in the Big 12 Championship.

This is exactly how I Evaluated Princes performance vs Blackmon

and Prince had perfect position in all of them. Except the PI one.

Poster Randy White is a Cornhusker fanboy and he says stay far away from Prince. FWIW. I didn't watch him that closely.

He is just like newman. I have seen him play many times in person. He is way overrated. A unwilling tackler and does not play the ball. He is also a sucker for double moves.

That's okay. Campo will turn him into an all pro. :laugh1:

And yet you are making such a conclusive statement of this player's abilities.

Firstly his name is Justin Blackmon. Secondly, if you even bothered to watch that game you would know that 80 of those yards came on a flea flicker. Thirdly, every corner gets beat from time to time. Patrick Peterson got owned by Julio Jones. It happens. Doesn't mean neither one of them is a good prospect.

Oh the irony.

You're lambasting this guy for just looking at the stats Blackmon racked up against Nebraska and attributing it all to Amakumura. Yet, you then follow up with the false notion that Julio Jones "owned" Patrick Peterson.

That's pure fiction.

Peterson wasn't even covering Jones the entire game. He also covered #4 Maze a large part of the game. I have the game recorded and he gave up 4 receptions for apx. 50 yards and a TD to Jones. I'd hardly call that "owning."

Exactly right.. I'm glad more people are starting to come around. Almost every fellow Husker fan I encounter on-line agree that he's overrated. We were very surprised with how high he was ranked earlier in the season, along with Niles Paul.

The physical tools are enticing and make scouts drool, but the production or play do not justify it. IN other words, he looks better in a uniform than he actually plays.

I'm a Cornhusker fan, and I'd be ECSTATIC if we got Prince. He didn't do too well against Blackmon, but i've seen that dude straight beast it in other games. Either way you look at it, he's better than what we currently have.

Maybe owned is too strong a word, but Peterson certainly didn't shut him down:

The much-ballyhooed matchup between Alabama WR Julio Jones and LSU CB Patrick Peterson didn't disappoint. Jones was able to come away with six catches and a touchdown against Peterson but managed just 51 receiving yards. And six of those yards came on a short pass in which fellow Bama wideout Darius Hanks ran interference for Jones and Peterson had no chance to make a play.

The Huskers are my favorite team right behind the Sun Devils and I would freaking LOVE if we got Prince.

I watched all but 2 games of Prince this year and nobody throws at him. Yes, Blackmon and OK State beat him up badly that game but in almost all the others he was elite in. He has 0 INTs this year because no one ever threw at him at a consistent basis.

It is just completely ******** for someone to make a comment on one players abilities if they have never seen said player play and all they have seen is youtube videos.

I would rather have Peterson but I would be happy with Amukamara.

If not Peterson, I'd trade down slightly or take a top OL. I also like DE Crick and CB Gettis later on, like 2nd rounder types.
Prince will probably be a decent CB in the pros but he's no top 5 talent that's going to be another Revis. He'll be about average, a solid starter and that's about it IMO.
Considering we need a S worse than a CB anyway...stocking an extra pick in the 2nd and/or 3rd rounds would be quite useful. Could probably trade down in the first, still get a starting quality OL, pick up a DL, and DB in the 2nd and 3rd if not two.

Relevant plays from this game are at the following timestamps:

25:26
40:50
41:30
48:30
1:03:03
2:06:37
2:18:55
2:23:50
2:26:42
3:13:30
3:16:38

Peterson had pretty tight coverage on several of the plays completed on him, including a back shoulder fade (40:50) and the touchdown (3:16:38). I don't know that I would say that he shut anyone down, but he certainly wasn't "owned."
