We Drafted Roy Williams Instead Of Ed Reed

We had Woodson at the time, and he was playing the Ed Reed role. We needed someone like Roy opposite him. The problem is now that he's gone, we have no one in the true FS role to replace him. If we ever picked one up it would be an awesome thing for this defense.

We drafted Ware instead of Merriman what is the point?

Reed wouldnt be the Reed you see had we drafted him. Ray Lewis made Ed Reed. Ray Lewis got Reed into the film study. Ray Lewis got Reed into the proper practice regimen. Ray Lewis took Reed under his wing like a big brother.....and since Ray is still there, Reed is still doing those little things to prepare for games. Its all about reppin the U

I am not sure Reed would have had the same work ethic had he been here.....there was no one else here to help him rep the U....and really the only player for him to look up to at the time would have been Woodson, but he left the league so soon....and look at how Roy regressed once he left. I think it is safe to say that Reed, possibly would have done the same.

Roy gave us 3.5 excellent years. Sure we wanted more, but hey, that isn't the way it goes sometimes.

Bobby Crapenter gave us one good game.....that is it. He has been a total waste of a first round pick. Thanks Bill...To know that we could have had Manny Lawson, Cromartie, or a few other players who could have actually contributed.....it still makes me sick.

I still think Roy would be a benefit with the guys we have RIGHT NOW if we were able to have him on the field on regular downs in a SS role and then move Hamlin to SS and Henry to FS in passing situations.

Being close to several Ravens fans and having lived in that area, Baltimore DESPERATELY WANTED ROY WILLIAMS. They even considered trading up and thought of him as a perfect fit to their defense. Hindsight is 20/20
