That right there is the real reason we are not going to the playoffs. If you are a playoff team, you have to have more than 1 win against a team that finishes above 500.

Of course this is par for the course with Garrett...........beat sub 500 teams and lose to virtually everybody else. Usually your schedule is divided among half good team and half crap teams so if all you can do is beat the crap teams, that is why you have the following records.

8-8
8-8
8-8

This pattern will not change until we start beating good teams and Garrett has shown in 3.5 seasons on the job that he generally cannot do that. That is not dogging Garrett, that is just a truthful evaluation of his coaching record.

This team could have just as easily been 5-11 w/ losses vs Giants, Vikings and Commanders if it wasn't for miracle finishes. This team is a lot closer to the bottom...than it is to the top.

could have been 11-5 without the epic collapses against GB, Det, and the pick against denver

It's kinda like how we can say Dallas hasn't had a losing record in 3 years but can also say they haven't had a winning one in three years. Mediocrity puts you in these weird middle areas and Jerry will use that to justify Garrett

We're 4-17 against teams that are 9-7 or better since 2011.

2011 we beat SF (the Romo rib game)
2012 we beat NYG and Cincy
2013 we beat Philly

That's it folks! Only 4 wins against teams that were 9-7 or better in 3 seasons!

This was the year to capture the East. The Eagles will be even better next year with another years draft, while our core is that much older.

BTW - calling it now. 2014 schedule will have Cowboys visiting the Eagles for the final week of the season.
