We hate on JG, some more than others and some even clamored for Jon Gruden. Why?

Didn't want Gruden. JG sucks plain and simple. JG is supposedly a motivational speak, who is clueless about X's and O's; what this team needs is a real football coach and not a guy telling them how good they are when they mess up.

Because we prefer winning Super Bowls over mediocrity. Gruden has won a Super Bowl as a head coach and Garrett hasn't. How hard is that to understand? Gruden may not ever win another Super Bowl but that's still better than Garrett because he never will. :angry:​

Why?

Gruden -------------------------------> Won A Super Bowl
Gruden---------------------------------> Doesn't kiss anyones butt
Gruden ---------------------------------> Doesn't clap at mediocrity.
Gruden ----------------------------------> Smart enough to make changes during a game if things aren't working.
Gruden ----------------------------------> Knows how to tell Time!!!
 
Most of us played football, at least up to the HS level, so we know something about the game. I feel like JG has no feel for the game.

JG was brought in as an OC, failed miserably at that with Wade as his HC. When JG got the HC position he was also the OC, he sucked so we got an OC with JG still calling the plays. That didn't work so JG also lost his play calling responsibilities. Man that's 3 strikes already.

I hate his feel for the game (Flow, clock management, play calling and scheme) and how he NEVER takes responsibility for ANYTHING!

When Jerry and Jimmy split, Jerry said "anyone of 500 coaches could coach this team". Well, he is proving himself wrong...again.

Right now, the knock on Garrett is the playoff record. That’s progress from what the knock has been historically, but it’s still a knock. It comes down to whether or not you think we’re losing games because of coaching. Many seem to believe that.

Personally, I put it on the fact we’ve been unable to field a quality defense going back almost ten seasons now. Some of that’s on Garrett. A lot of it I put on the Joneses. Either way, it needs to be fixed and ought to be priority one this offseason. But it might not be.

The booth worked out pretty well for Dick Vermiel so who knows.
 
A legitimate coaching resume is another thing that separates the two. Gruden worked his way up the ranks which is how it should be for an NFL HC.
 
Well, I guess I'm just wrong then but it seems there aren't a lot of HC's out there taking their teams to the playoffs on a consistent basis. Consistent being the key thing for you guys. I can name them actually, Bellichick, Reid (who continues to lose every one), Tomlin, Marvin Lewis (who also continues to lose every one), McCarthy, Pete Carroll and Sean Payton. That's 7 HC's out of 32. None are for hire either.

Sure I'd take any one of those guys as a HC. Zimmer and Payton particularly but you guys seem to think that playoff winning teams fall from the sky. They don't and there is a reason why their team keeps them as.

IMO and it's only mine, there isn't a better HC available today than JG. Yep, we could fire him, hire another and see 10-6 next year. JG can get us that.

Gruden??? Most over-hyped coach in football. Yeah, charismatic no doubt but you realize he's a 14 game over .500 HC and the last time I checked won one SB in 9 years. He went 2-2 in the playoffs with Oakland. I must be missing something on Gruden.

After taking a team he inherited to the SB in year one, The Bucs went 45-51 with Gruden as a HC and never sniffed the playoffs again. He does have a good young QB in Oakland. We can have this discussion in the coming years with Gruden. Yep, I expect a blip upwards in the win column in 2018 bbut that's all I expect
 
TBH, I don't care if Gruden did work his way up the coaching ranks. He's been out of the ranks for 10 years.

Nothing to miss... he's better than Garrett and that will continue in 2018. Again 1 Super Bowl is now a bad thing. lol Yet this coach can't get past the 1st round. on the off chance he makes the playoffs. Plus Gruden coached 3 more seasons if you want to compare winning %. And for some ridiculous reason people want to include those 5 amazing wins in 2010 to Garretts percentage? lol

5 divison wins/2 divison wins
3 championship games/ none
1 super Bowl win/ none

We're still waiting on the next Tom Landry. lol Funny that people rip a guy like Gruden to build up Garrett. There's not even a question who the better coach is.

Okey dokey smokey. As you say, 1 SB in 9 seasons . Sorry to correct you but.... for Chucky...1 AFC Chanpionship game lost, 1 AFC divisional game lost, 2 NFC wild card games lost.... 1 SB. Get your facts straight. I guarantee you Cowboy fans would not like playoff apperances and losses. Yes he won a SB. his claim to fame. No, JG has no claim to fame yet
