We Have 6 Draft Picks in Next Week's Draft

Where have I ever said I wouldnt take him? I said there are other players I prefer over a guy who is probably destined to being a guard only.

The argument for Pouncey is that he can play center and guard, and would be a massive upgrade over Proctor, and at the same time could possibly challenge Kosier for the starting guard spot this year. At some point, he becomes Gurode's replacement, probably in a season or two.

What I am on record saying is that I think using 1st rd picks on interior OL is not value IMO, because its so easy to get later round picks there and coach them up. I really dont want us to spend our 1st on Pouncey or Iupati, but if it came down to a choice between the two I'd take Pouncey.

Prexactly!!!

If Pouncy is there i'd have a real tough time not taking him. If we lose Gurode, I just shudder at the thought of Proctor and Kosier against some of the Big DT's. I think he'd be a good value pick there too, but I just don't think he'll be there.

One thing about Mays in his favor big, he is a fiery leader that could replace Brooking as the emotional spark plug of the Defense.

One thing that IMO is a huge knock against him is he like Roy Williams doesn't seem to know how to wrap up. He only hits and with his arms down.

In the NFL he will not being facing second rate college players, he will be facing the best of the best. In the NFL, players will just bounce off of him. If you don't wrap up and your coverage skills are lacking, you will become Roy Williams 2.0.

Roy Williams was extremely vocal early on too.

I strongly oppose drafting Taylor Mays in the first round. If you are going to draft him don't spend a 1st round pick on him. IMO, that would be an epic fail.

Pouncey is a much better player than Iupati.

I think Iupati will be a far better lineman than Pouncey, Pouncey's upside is the fact that he can play both guard and center.

Theoretically Dallas already has it's future ILB in Jason Williams, plus he's an Athletic Fff-REAK like Mays. If Taylor moved to ILB they'd be clones at the position.

I think Jason Williams will be far better on coverage than Mays ever will be. Not to mention Mays just doesn't wrap up when tackling.

How well has drafting OL late and developing them worked? Free is the only guy we have developed that was not an early rd pick in HOW LONG?

Mays has hips stiffer then a week old corpse. I do not see where he can really be effective, and with his lousy tackling he would be a disaster at LB.

Mays is stiff and pretty awkward. I don't see him being a NFL safety. And you can't 'coach him up' either. I do see him tackling better than you're giving him credit for though. I wouldn't draft him but I see him becoming a very good LB. The only way he would be able to play safety is if his speed can overcome his technique as a DB. I don't see it but I'm no expert. I will trust our scouts and FO.

He doesn't wrap up. He (like Roy Williams) just likes to knock people over.
