Some may remember before the preseason, I made reference that Drew was better than Danny White. I got handled kind of roughly for that comment, but felt confident that he would show everyone how good he really is. I get to gloat now.
Drew is going to lead this team to great things before he is through. We have to recognize he is an elite NFL QB and start planning our offense around that fact. Yesterday we took a chance and came out throwing and put up a lot of points early. We just need to stay on this track.
This ain't no bus driver folks! This is the real deal!
Agreed.
Drew is indeed playing like the elite QB he was in New England in his early years, and I am thrilled for him and for us.
I wanna give some props to Big Bill tho, for not just understanding what Drew nees to thrive, but for providing it for him, just as he said he would. No other coach has been able to replicate the conditions, AND coach the flaws out of Drew's game so effectively. I am very hopeful this can continue to be the case, because Bill will continue to scheme to put Drew in advantageous position, if it means pass opening up run all freaking year.
Bill's built a much better bus. Whether it's the added protection of Rob and Marco, sitting Tucker and putting Dre at center rotation, or using more two te sets, getting Key to block his arse off, bringing in Price as insurance, Tuna has been about upgrading the whole darn offensive bus, and making it hum to Drew Bledsoe's tune.
The fact that Bledsoe is playing well above bus driver level is what may make the diff between being merely competitive and actually going places.
I expected Drew to carry the team while the D gelled, but if the D gets its act together fast - and yesterday indicated that MAY happen - who knows..it will be about much more than carrying, but an equal partnership of the two units.
Then watch out! A very wise man told me yesterday that beating the Eagles at home took the monkey off the team's back. But that beating them in Philly will take the gorilla off.
After yesterday, that ape may be in danger of extinction.
