In the pre-season, the organization had us all believing that we really had something here with this team. Well this team is average! I do believe that we have above average talent, but our schemes are too weak. Especially on defense. I starting to believe that our defensive scheme is diesigned to make good player average and average players suck. As far as our offense goes, instead of getting a TE in the second round that we have no need of, why not get a freakin linemen! Face it Flo Adams is not much better than tucker was last year at this point.

As for our head coach...This is all I got to say about that. We were not in the same class as Philly and NY and we have the superior talent. That on our coach.

Sure....lay it on the coaches. They must be telling all this "talent" to not perform on the field.

We might have all sorts of alleged talent, but until they put it on the field, NY is just on another level - one that produces.

everyone was ready to bury the Giants after week 3. They were 1-2 and ready to implode. Coughlin gathered his team and laid it on the line...His team responded and have turned it around.

It is time for Parcells to get mean and fire up his troops. This team is way better than what we saw Monday night on both sides of the ball. It is time to have that team meeting...the season is on the line. We can only hope these guys play their hearts out and turn this thing around. They either want it or they dont. We shall see!

I agree this team has played way less than advertised. It is time to get this thing working...the fans are owed 100% effort at least.

Coughlin didn't get mean to fire up his troops, it was just the opposite.

We have got to change our def schemes to allow for better blitz packages that fool some folks.

What was the Cowboys suposed to say..."We will only be avarage and the media over-rated our defense and don't expect much from this team because we just can get it done."...?

You may have bought into what was being said, but you are the one responsible for you feeling ripped off.

That being said...I think we all have a little of that feeling in us.

All true 6 games into the season, but maybe things will take a dramatic turn for the better over the next several weeks. It could happen.

OK - here's something to ponder.

Maybe the talent level on our team isn't as great as we think it is.

Maybe with Bill placing an almost maniacal emphasis on the exact physical prototype for each position, we have a bunch of players who match Parcells' exact specifications, but don't exactly have enough talent to excel at the position.

For example, we replaced Dat Nyguen with Akin Ayodele. Dat was undersized, and I believe that Parcells was relieved that he retired. Akin has the exact size and speed that Parcells was looking for. Has he had the same impact as Dat? Even though Parcells spoke glowingly of Dat's skill level, if Dat were just coming out in the draft today, would Parcells pick him? No way.

Back in the 80s, maybe being the biggest, baddest, meanest team in the league would propel you to overpower your opponents.

Perhaps in today's league in which everyone is eating their Wheaties, talent and play-making ability are the key differentiator, more than raw physical specifications.

Has the game passed our coach by?

They need to do some stunts or something to try and cause more confusion and make our opponents make mistakes. Every game I watch I see men going at the QB unblocked for sacks, from every team in the NFL but Dallas. That just amazes me. Zimmer seems to be more about winning 1 on 1 matchups instead or wreaking havoc and causing confusion and frankly he needs to be gone.

it's the org's JOB to sell you the team and the moves. it's how they sell tickets and get people excited about the upcoming season. several people bought it 100% and that's fine. it's what we all *want* to believe in the very least.

step back and think for yourself and don't buy everything you hear. you'll be happier in the end.

Agreed.

Even if they know the team is total crap they are not going to come out and say it. They will try and do or say something to keep the fans interested.

Now on the other hand I really think Bill and Jerrry felt they did indeed have a good team this year. This is not something new for Jerry as he know longer predicts superbowls because of his public soothsaying in the past.

I don't know. I guess I really can't buy into this whole sold a bill of goods thing. There were those here who said this was a 9-7 type team. Of course, those folks were called idiots and basically ingnored but hey, you really can't say that we were not told. Anybody could look at the fact that Adams has not played well for some time, (even before the injury), that Rivera was coming off an injury, that Columbo was coming off injury, that Gurode would be starting at Center, really for the first time and that Kosier was new to the team. Anybody could look at Bledsoe and see what to expect based on several years of data. All of these things were apparent IMO. If we got sold a bill of goods, it's because we were chomping at the bit to buy what was being sold. Our own fault.
