We have clearly improved

There are many reasons to question Tyron Smith besides the fact he's a Rookie.

Tell me one time who our starting OLine is and who the backups are.

Last year

Free Kosier Gurode Davis Colombo
Young Barron Costa Holland Bright

This year so far

Free Kosier Gurode Holland Smith
Young Parnell Costa Arkin Nagy

Do you have any idea how bad Davis Colombo and Barron were last year?

Besides draft status there's zero reason to think he will as well, at least this season. We simply don't know yet

Shill summit meeting. You should see their secret handshake.

you should look up the meaning of the word shill and try again. Homer would be the proper term and again pessimism is not a virtue.

I think we're a better team.

We went 6-10....but grossly underachieved.

Jason Garrett is an improvement over what we had at HC the first eight games. After that, we lost our DC and had to fly by the seat of our pants with Paul Pasquoloni. So, we improved at DC as well.

-Getting a healthy Romo back is HUGE.
-Austin and Dez should be a better one/two combo. We're weaker at the third WR position.
-Hopefully, our RB situation is better. Jones should be better than Barber. I felt he really held us back last year.
-OL....I'm not sure about. I would like to think it's better. Free should only get better. Kosier is very solid as is Gurode. RG....hmmm....Davis wasn't good....but I'm not sure how Holland will do. I'm not automatically assuming he'll be better than Davis. I know most think Smith will be a HUGE upgrade. But there WILL BE GROWING PAINS. He's raw. I think we'll be better at the end of the year than at the beginning.
-DL will be better. Mainly due to the scheme change. Ratliff should be healthy this year (coming off elbow surgery last year). Spears is back. Olshansky will be Olshansky. Depth took a hit. But I think our starters will be better than last year.
-LB will be improved. Brooking will be spelled more often with Lee. Lee is poised to make a jump this year. Ware is in the middle of his prime. Ryan sounds genuinely excited about Spencer. Again, scheme chage will bring improvement here.
-CB....??? Not sure here. Newman is declining. Jenkins hopefully will return to form (major improvement over last year). Scandrick was awfully tough down the stretch.
-S....we should improve....but will it be enough? Elam seems poised to join us (if you believe reports). AOA is a super exciting prospect. To me, he's the wildcard here. He may be the answer we've been looking for.

Overall, we've improved.

But is it enough?

The Giants and Eagles have improved as well.

Yes, we can't be sure. But you have to admit that there is at least reason for (GASP!) optimism that Smith > Colombo

Better than the idiot chicken lemmings

I think you meant chicken littles. The lemmings around here are Jerry disciples. In any event, congrats on breaking the Zone record for packing the most homerism into one post, not to mention giving the team every single benefit of the doubt. Outstanding.

Hmm. Wasn't looking for your consent or approval, but thanks anyway.

7-9 would be a small miracle. With the pass pressure on Romo and no running game, actually thinking we could be in the Luck sweepstakes 4-12?

i do not believe we have improved or not. there are alot of questions on this team. i am worried about the right side of the oline. the safety postion i will wait until preseason games to see if the defense is in trouble. if we sign elam or sensy we might be ok at ss. it looks like AoA will be the free saftey. hopefully he will not be half as bad as ball was last year. i am worried about newman. his age worries me. i still do not trust scandrick to be a starter. now i do not think that we will not be able to run the ball. last year in the second half we did a good job of getting a hunded yards a game. hopefully bryant can elevate his game and stay healthy all year. if not we will struggle to throw the ball. teams will take away austin from us. also a full year from romo will help us in a big way. romo needs to cut down on his turnovers for us to win.

I see only one major improvement. Smith at RT and his ability to get to the second level opens up the play book. The defense still looks like a disaster to me. They have no safties, the D Line is iffy, and they are still trotting Brookings out there at ILB (he is this years version of Columbo).

I meant Lemmings... all the ones that jump off the cliff every time something happens that they don't like.

And which points are homerism? Which ones are fact?

Ryan > Wade (fact)
Romo > Kitna (fact)
Dez year 2 and Lee year 2 > than rookie versions (fact)
Elam (prob) > Ball (fact)
Phillips > Gronk (fact)
More Felix/Choice > Barber (fact)
Spears > Hatcher (fact)
We went 5-3, almost 6-2, without these improvements (fact)

Maybe Smith > Colombo is homerism, but I'd take that bet any day.

Maybe Bailey > Buehler but worse case we have a more seasoned Buehler

I definitely agree with this post! We were balling with kitna and should have really been 7-1 because that Ariz game was ours! But hey we went 5-3 and were in all of those games even with the amount of injuries we had! Are team is back healthy and we don't have that slow and dead weight right side of our line (Davis and Columbo) we have a better more aggressive d-coordinator in Rob Ryan and Garrett is making these guys work! Which Wade refused to do! I'm excited to see romo with dez and miles and witten... We should win about 10 games! Add a safety or two and a vet wr and maybe Ty Warren for vet min... And I'm certain we can play with the best of them!!

Not every fan will feel the same.

You obviously don't like what you see. That's your perrogative.

There isn't anything to be gained by pooping on people that are excited about football. There isn't anything wrong to love the Cowboys and expect to see them whin.

I think my daughter is the most beautiful teenage girl on Earth. Nothing you can say will change my mind about that. Now, you may feel differently if you ever meet her. That's fine.

But my opinion will never change. Why? Because she's MY GIRL. I love her dearly.

Many of us that love the Cowboys are the same way. Why do we think our team will be ok? Because we just love the Cowboys.

Why is that wrong?

No doubt, i love the pick as well but optimism and wishful thinking doesn't make him better. I'm not ready to call him better just yet, i hope he is and i believe he will be but as of right now we just don't know

Hey everybody News Flash - Jerry isn't signing anyone else this year on the Oline.

Do you have any idea how bad Davis Colombo and Barron were last year?

My parents loved me too, but they wouldn't have looked the other way if I was a bully or failing a subject at school. Love shouldn't blind you to certain realities.

This team will be better because of coaching let alone the talent we have on this team. We have alot of top 10 and top 5 players on this team. Combine that with Jason Garrett and Rob Ryan coaching up this team, we will be at least a 10 win team...

Romo - easy top 10
Austin - top 5 maybe easy top 10
Dez - top 5 potential
Witten - top 5
Free - top 10
Gurode - top 10 easily
Ware - best rusher period
Ratliff - top 5 easy top 10
Newman - when healthy easy top 10

Again, it shouldn't bother you if some of us love what we see about the Cowboys.
