Still waiting to be "fisked." In fact, I'm still waiting for you to have any point other than ad-hominems and overreactions

Don't forget the MS Paint.

so you did not just say that Jerry Jones did that?

Yeh he came out and said he was gonna do it, before that he said that he made every final personel decision on and off the field concerning the Dallas Cowboys.

Anyway, they have practice tomorrow?

Maybe he gave some of those duties to Ryan and Garrett, lets hope so.

Looking forward to hearing your updates, Ty. (especially if they involve the OL)

You got it man. i am going to try and make a few more times. have to see how scheduling works out.

to be honest we have a 4th place scedule and when u look at it compared to last years ( toughest in the nfc/ 2nd or 3rd overall) we could not change a thing and be better. Throw in no more camp cupcake, obvious predictability, lousy preparation, and the fact the team got flat out lazy under wade. We are better. The environment has been changed. the team is hungry and we are addressing problems. We cut allot of dead weight and brought in a ton of young lineman and holland will buy us enough time for one of the young lineman to step it up and get ready. Now we need two safeties and we are in the process of getting those.
If you are looking for the sexy feel good move , no dallas hasnt done that. But the cowboys have done allot of work in the trenches and that is where games are won and lost. We probably will make atleast one more move there. prossman

The hungry team part might be a big factor. The Cowboys know everyone is down on them right now. Being Super Bowl favorites did them no good. Let's see how the opposite works.

The offense is clearly improved. You get no argument from me there. As I said in an earlier thread, if the right side of the line meshes early in the season, the Cowboys have a legitimate chance at scoring 500 points this year.

However, as the roster currently stand, the defense actually has less talent and more holes than it did last season. It lost the only defense end capable of a generating pass rush, Stephen Bowen. And, with Sensabaugh testing the free agent waters, it has no one with any experience manning the safety spots.

Yeah, I'm a little puzzled over all of the pessimism I've been reading on the board as well. I agree that we've already clearly improved over last year, and even last season I don't think our problem was lack of talent, but rather our system and identity (as Jason Garrett demonstrated almost as soon as he toojk over and turned us around).

I have very little doubt that if Romo stayed healthy and Garrett was our coach over the entire season that we would have made the playoffs. Barring some other catastrophic event like what happened with Romo last season, I think we have a very good chance of going deep into the playoffs this season....maybe even beyond.

Unless they do something to upgrade the offensive line, we could be in big trouble. We now have 3 starters to replace from last years starting 5 for the first 8 weeks of the season....

Gurode's not out the first 8 weeks.

Not trolling, but this team is shaping to be worse than last year's 6-10 team talent-wise.

No Wade, Romo's back, so there is certainly room for improvement but talent wise we've taken a big step back, imo.

-No depth at the offensive line, rookie at RT, questions at RG.
-Maybe the worst starting MLB in football, Brooking, is back.
-Safety?
-No depth at receiver.
-No upgrades at CB. Missed out on top FA CBs.
-Can Felix play at 16 games? Can Tashard be effective in short yardage?
-Gurode hurt, Brooking hurt, B. Carter hurt, Tashard hurt.
-The rest of the NFC East has improved

I actually like Jerry & Son, but what a horrible offseason. I wasn't expecting a revamped team, but I was expecting something. Anything. I'm just hoping someone bumps this in January, maybe on Superbowl weekend, reminding me how much of an idiot I am.

The first sentence suggests we need to upgrade the offensive line or we're in trouble. The second suggests that the fact that we need to replace 3 starters means we're in trouble.....

Which is it? Should we be upgrading, or staying put with last year's guys?

Didn't we just spend a 9th overall on a OT?

Also, (and I'm assuming you meant Gurode) why are you assuming he won't be available until week 8?

Horrible assessment IMO.

Hi Windward

I thought Gurode was on PUP ?
Dont you have to sit 8 weks if on PUP ?

Thanks, John

Only if he is on PUP when the regular season starts.

I doubt that happens as things stand right now.

If I am wrong my apologies..

Not saying Davis and Columbo were quality , but we have a Rookie right tackle with no OTA,s and who is our right guard ? Oft injured M. Holland ?

That's a lot of question marks for the Offensive line in my opinion.
Could be wrong, would not be the first time and wont be the last.
