I don't care what anybody who works for the Cowboys, paperwise internet wise etc says. If you saw this game Murray clearly showed he is an everydown back and should be cemented in as the starter. We can lose the well wait a minute don't get ahead of ourselves. Bullcrap, He has showed me more in three games then the trio showed me, minus Barber's flashes. Of course he will have bad games, hiowever on a consistent basis he needs to get the rock, and alot of it!

He's great. He's very exciting to watch. However, he needs to work on his stamina. He gets too tired but otherwise, he's very fun to watch.

Maybe and maybe not. No question he is a very talented guy and should have gone in first round I might add or at the very least, high 2nd round.

But taking cue from Bill Parcells, Lets not annoint him already. We saw Julious Jones, Marion Barber, and Felix Jones excel in spurts. So we just have to be cautiously optimistic he will have more than 1 good year or few good games etc.

And I put anyone in Emmit realm, not any time soon, unless a player plays well for 4-5 years, not that you were trying to say he is Emmit type of player. I understand you were trying to say Cowboys have found long term answer. Heck last year all of us thought Dez would be lighting League on fire this year. So far, he has been not bad, but at the same time hasn't been any where near what his expectations were.

Do we think we've found our RB for the future? Does he look fantastic? Could he turn out to be great? The answer to all of those questions is yes. Calling him the next Emmitt Smith? Please, don't embarrass yourself.

lets not get too carried away with the next Emmitt, I heard the same crap when Hambrick was average 5.6 yards per carry and 189 yards against the Skins and that we should get rid of Emmitt....and then there's the Julius Jones bandwagon who had two big games against the Bears on thanksgiving and the Monday night game in Seattle and what happened to him.......
Murray had a couple of good games, but lets remain in reality, they were against the Seabags and the sorry Rams....not the power house defenses in the NFL

He had a couple of very good games, good for him, but a couple of games against horrible teams doesn't make it a career..put the annointing oils away

I saw J. Jones have success running draw plays what I see in Murray is a lot different. He can hammer out the hard yards and has much better vision. I'm not putting him in the HOF just yet but the kid is a damn good RB and I don't have to wait to know this

I wouldn't say we found our next Emmitt Smith. I will say that we have finally found a complete, dependable running back that is capable of great things.

One great thing that I can say of Murray in comparison to Emmitt is that I expect him to succeed. When Emmitt played, it was a shock if he didn't get 100 yards in a game.

If Murray continues playing the way he has the last few weeks, I will begin to expect the same from him. Even though I love the playmaking ability of Felix, he isn't that guy. In other words, it's a shock if he does have a 100 yard game.

Too soon...

Too soon...

This, way too soon. Emmitt besides being a HOFer was a warrier. Murray has a long way to go before even considering it.

He looks like a faster marion barber. Great vision, good cutting agility but with more speed.

This is one of those times where I think people need better comprehension skills. Saying we finally found Emmitt's "replacement" is much, much -- MUCH -- different from saying we found the "next Emmitt."

I entirely agree with the original poster. Barring injury, DeMarco looks like a guy that should be our primary ball carrier for the next five years. That's something we haven't been able to say about a running back since Emmitt's days.

That's funny, because everyone was saying it about Julius Jones.

I agree. Murray is a rookie to even put him on the level of a 14 year pro HOF and all time rushing leader is a bit much.

I will say the position of RB is extreamly instictive and this kid is seeing the cut back lane and hitting it hard. In blitz situation he know where he has to be to make the pickup. I would not call him the Next Emmitt Smith I will call him a very good RB

We said the same thing about J. Jones (not that he was Emmitt, but that we had found a permanent feature back). Besides, Murray still needs a signature moment.

did he kind of remind you guys of a bigger/stronger version of Tony Dorsett...just looking at the way he glides when he runs and makes some of his cuts. He's definitely better than Troy Hambrick!

I said Emmitt's replacement finally. Not that he was as good as Emmit? Read?

He does appear to be the most complete guy we've had since Emmitt. Felix, Julius, Barber all one trick ponies. Demarco has everything you need in a feature back, and he's not a headcase either. He's tough but won't kill himself like Barber. He's fast, but not afraid to stick his head in the pile. He blocks. He can catch. If he stays healthy, we very well could have Emmitt's replacement.
