That seemed to be the emphasis of this offseason…coach up guys who failed elsewhere with high potential. It’s only been one game but you start to understand why these guys were available lol.

Bargain shopping

Not sure if that’s a good thing in all of those cases

Guys with high draft grades are the names these two can actually recall.

They operate as if a player couldn’t possibly bust, including their own, yet they commonly do.

Yeah sure there’s a chance one of them turns it around, but then you have to pay them anyway to keep them, so what did you really gain?

Roster building is NOT their strong suit. Unfortunately that’s the biggest job of the title they insist on holding.

Yeah this offseason we decided to sign all that trash others wanted to throw away anyways.

The Joneses found a new way of marketing their product: We will be successful because, see

- we are very active in FA (which all fangirls shouted for)
- and we two are so ***** smart. We outsmarted everybody by luring away their top draft picks.

All they have to do now is pay some cheerleaders (so called journalists) to praise those traits every day. Because the casual fan will believe what he hears and sees every day.

It's not a bad strategy to take a flier on a guy if you have good developmental coaches. But you have to know how to identify the guys that aren't worth the trouble and cut bait. Eagles hit a home run with now All-Pro Zack Baun. He got his contract and had six solo tackles, three assisted, one batted ball and a TFL against us. They did well with Mekhi Becton, then let him go. Now outside of that team culture, he is not quite the same player. They traded for Kenyon Green, decided even Stoutland couldn't fix him, and instead of trying to hang on and recoup trade value, admitted he wasn't any good and let him go.

If can get a Zack Baun-type impact player out of one of these pick-ups, it's worth it.

Of this list, I like in order:

Clark
Pickens
Williams
Thomas

That's it.

I love the approach. Only problem is relying on these guys. You are praying guys pan out and at best maybe one or two click…..hoping for 7 is extreme.

Yeah, I think the jury is still out on a couple of these rejects.

more than half suck.
Murray is a liability.
Hooker is old now, time to replace him, should have already had someone in the pipeline, but we refuse to draft safties.
fowler is a liability against the run and free lances too much. he should come off the bench.
williams is better than zeke. that's it.
Mingo is a bust. lets move on.
jurry out on Elam.
Clarks is better than any 1-tech we have had in past 10 years.
Thomas is older. liability at times.
jurry out on how useful is turner.
pickens so far is a tease. he had a bad first game. his run blocking was none existent, an underrated skill for a WR. he had dumb penalty already going for the head.

Jerry thinking he is getting a steal sifting through the busts, overrated and damaged merchandise. These are items whose next destination was the dumpster. Where Jerry also loves to dive into.

Geeez no wonder things don’t change around here. Garbage in, garbage out.
