Don't know that our staff isn't good - however, it seems like they may have missed something on Kosier (which is why he kept hurting the same foot) and possibly on Newman. I doubt that sort of "miss" is uncommon though

What coach doesn't? Parcells never put guys on the injury list at all even though we had them. Belicheck list every single injury even guys with nothing more than a paper cut.

We were this way under Parcells. I actually don't think it's lying, just incompetence of the training staff.

Al Johnson supposedly was 'kicked in the back of the leg' in '03 and was only supposed to sit out the second part of the day in a scrimmage and then wound up need microfracture surgery on his knee. Henry was supposedly having issues with a groin pull and they later found out that he had an undiagnosed abdominal tear in '05. Woody was supposed to sitting out some training camp in '04 with some back issues and then wound up having to retire. And there's other examples in the Parcells era of this happening as well.

With Wade having the same issues, I'm more apt to believe that the medical staff isn't as thorough as they need to be and they tell the coach the report and the coach just relays that information. I hardly call that lying.

I lost faith in the local Dallas media a long time ago. I have been watching football a long time and played it as well these injuries are just part of the training camp experience just as it is with every single team out there. Thus far the injuries have been minor for us that is a blessing right now and I hope that continues. I'm not going to get excited over every single bump, bruise or sprain, because they are going to happen.

My only source of comfort is that other teams also have injuries.

One concern is mine is that Wade is too quick to say someone is not hurt bad.
He speaks as if he's a doctor.
Other coaches would take a wait and see attitude, but not Wade.

Is it staff competence or lying in cases where the timeframe is significantly off? I don't think we know.

I tend to think it is intentional vagueness on Wade's part in order to be stealth. But that's just my opinion.

I do know this. Its gone on enough under Parcells & Wade that I take Cowboy injury reports with a very large grain of salt.

Its a bit frustrating as a fan but I can understand why the coaches might want to be discreet in some situations.
