Sure I was disappointed with todays loss, but reality dictated that you can't play 1/2 of a game or even in our other wins commit too many penalties and expect to come up with a W .

Today we looked great for 1/2, hopefully we can maintain any kind of NFC East lead and get key D and O players back to see what this team is really like.

Couple that with cutting out untimely penalties and we could be very good if we can get to the playoffs.

They will improve as a team. They will correct the mental errors and get some players back. They will adjust game planning.

It's still early. I still expect playoffs. And anything can happen from there.

Frankly this team hasnt looked very good all season and is lucky to be 2-1.

We can't get turnovers but we commit them and lots of penalties too.

Last year is looking like an outlier

The injuries may be too much to overcome. Depending on who comes back when, we may or may not have a shot at the playoffs this year. Without the injuries, we would be good, but even at full strength we are not the juggernauts I had hoped to be. Will just have to hope and "wing it" till we can get some key pieces back and reload. Romo going down was a major blow to our chances. He could have willed us to a win today. Losing Dez hurts more than we know allowing teams to stop our run as we have no WR game anymore. Dez could have made Weeden serviceable I think, now we get no passing game respect from other teams and rightly so. I don't know if Hardy and Gregory would have helped this d at all today, We seem pretty anemic on D at this time.

Just gunna have to grin and bear it and take what fate gives us till Romo Dez and the D boys come back and pray the hole we dig in the mean time is not so deep we cant climb out. That was just plain ugly today. I dont look froward to seeing that again, but fear thats the fair for the next 3-6 weeks.

At the beginning of yesterdays game I thought WOW this is for the most part our second team, and we are killing a good team. That changed in the second half. Agree that if we can get back players who are healthy we can still be in this at the end.

The other thought I had was that having Kyle Shanahan on the Falcons staff he was with the Commanders and has had multiple games against us to figure out our tendencies. It showed with the way they attacked us on both sides of the ball once they figured out we had no WR threat.

We certainly overachieved last year, in part because we had a ridiculous 3rd down conversion success rate.

I don't think we're really lucky to be anywhere. The Giants handed us the game after we gave it to them first, and then we kicked the snot out of Philly - even though we failed to put a ton of points on the board. This game we played two different halves.

It's impossible to predict a record right now, because Weeden and the offense is a question mark and we don't know what htis defense is until some guys come back.

But I will say that, though they overachieved last year, this team should still be just as successful. The trick is treading water for the next 6 games until Romo arrives. We've also got the fact that this is a terrible division working in our favor. 9-7 might take it.

Good summary.

Getting Ro back in the middle is going to change the whole defense IMO.

Hardy and Gregory and Mincey will change the pass rush as well. Without them Crawford is double teamed and that's our push right now. This is a top 5 defense with those guys added back in

I get this but I think this team is only capable of playing 4 good quarters (in a row) only 1 perhaps 2 times a year. Only the Colts, Saints games from last year come to mind. We rarely put together a full game like the Pats or the Cards did yesterday. Tough sledding when the main actors are sick.

What team plays a complete game except the Patriots? Teams make runs especially in the 4th quarter. Teams adapt at half so you expect a comeback unless you are facing the Jaguars.

How did we overachieve last year?

We were good, but not 12-4 good, especially with that defense. A lot of things went our way last season.

I mean that record was good for what? The 4th or 5th best? You don't think we were the 4th or 5th best? Because i'm looking at our schedule last season.....we lost to one team we shouldn't have and we beat one team that was probably better than us in the Seahawks. We were suppose to win 12 games last season.

Hardly a good thing that through 3 entire games, we still haven't played a good game.
