We just might be a pretty good team

I know it's only 2 games into the season, but I still think this is, at a minimum, encouraging, seeing as how we are suppose to be "rebuilding" this year. One has to assume that we will only get better, considering we had a new and very complex defensive system to learn without any OTA's and lots of starters out so far to start the season. Can't wait until we are hitting on all cylinders.

Peep the stats through the first two games (on the road from coast to coast):

- Our defense leads the league in sacks

- Lee leads the league in tackles

-Ware leads the league in individual sacks

- Miles is top 5 in receiving yards with a bad hammy.

Those are ONLY top 5 standings.

Not bad for a team in rebuilding mode according to some "experts"

Yeah, but if you take away all of our All-Pros, we don't have anyone who would start for every other team in the league, so we have no talent.

We are a good team. 10-6 at least.

I agree.

But before I crown anything my main concern is health.

Other than that I would still like to see our D vs. a better offense, we will see that when we play Detroit.

I'm happy Newman is back for this game so he can get some action in before that game.

Also, Garrett's post game speech about how we had people step up and do their job when other players went down; makes me really excited for this team. All good teams have unknown players step up and just play football. It's not that teams like the Pats draft better, it's that teams like the Pats have a locker room where everybody is confident in the system and plays with confidence like they are supposed to be out there. So far we have been doing that.

injuries and Depth may end up biting us in the end. Personally I think they'll finish fair but didn't do enough in Free Agency to make this season a true success. I think next year will be much better mainly one reason. Rob Ryan will have this season to evaluate the guy's we currently have playing his Defense, so next year he'll know who stays and who goes and can feel some needed holes in the 2012 NFL Draft and Free Agency. The Offense may need some tweeking too especially on the OL.

Our defense just got competitive real fast.
In Sean Lee/DWare we trust.
Best defense in the NFC.
4th best offense in the NFL, 2nd in the NFC behind Carolina.
4th best defense in the NFL.

Maybe sign a key vet this season to make our offense/defense more dangerous.

What do you think about signing TO? Owens can be pretty cheap now and if he makes scene you can just cut him.

if we can stay healthy enough for the PO and get some of our guys back then we can easily make it to the NFC championship game.

Listen, I am ecstatic we are sitting here at 1-1.

Truth of the matter is we are one overtime from being 0-2. Those early season stats are nice, but I'm not ready to make any proclamations yet, especially on the defense. Alex Smith and Sanchez don't exactly put the fear of god into opposing defenses.

I'll say this. I am very happy with the progress of the defense. Not sure we could have hoped for much more at this point.

That's exactly how I feel, which is too bad, because for the first time in a while our guys seem to be overachieving rather than the contrary. Also, it was pretty clear before we even started the season that this cobbled together inexperienced O line was going to challenge Tony's survivability, I didn't think that it would happen this quickly though.

I hope that he stays for at least 2 more years.

Let's not forget Romo 5th most yards, tied for 6th in TD's, tied 5th best with fewest INT's, 4th best plays over 20 yards, 1st in plays over 40 yards, and 7th in QB rating. All this against one of the better defenses in the NFL and with busted ribs and deflated lungs.

The mediots and sheep are the only ones who considered this a rebuilding instead of a retooling year, imo. Yes we made major changes to the oline but they were all upgrades, getting rid of Barber and adding Murray is an upgrade, cutting Roy is a HUGE upgrade. Replacing Igor with Coleman, upgrade. Elam for Ball HUGE upgrade. I would not call that rebuilding. I'd call that addressing issues.

Add to this the improved coaching philosophy and I don't see how anyone can consider the team to be rebuilding and not be competitive this year. Health or lack there of is the only reason we're not heavily favored against the Skins.

This is not to suggest we can't get better or don't have holes, there is still a lot to be done. But look at Jacksonville if you want to see a team that is rebuilding. Big difference.

We've also got a pretty weak schedule...which makes 10-6 or 11-5 even more attainable.

Its still too early to look at stats...

We have played well....we have some major injury concerns. We are pretty banged up.

We need to beat the Skins.....its going to be hard...especially with so many players hurt on offense.

Concerning stats...

Texans #1 defense? Wade getting it done there?

Lets just hope the injuries stop. We could have almost everyone back by the Patriots game. (right after the bye week)
