We just took down the world champs

How wasn't it quality?

Brown showed out

Trigg played well

The OL depth did decently

Both QB's played solidly

The other WR's weren't awful

And the RB's: specifically Davis & Abanikanda looked very serviceable if not good.

How did they fail your expectations?
He must’ve been one of those fans who gave up the season after the first drive and switched the channel.

Oh come on guys we got football again let's just be happy for a little while.
Our team looks pretty good definitely looks like they want to compete backup quarterback position looks like it could be an asset.

We have a total embarrassment of riches in the receiver department at this point

Malik Davis looks like he could be a solid number too running back

We saw some good things and beat the world champs even though it was preseason still couldn't have felt good to them

Goal line stand I don't care if it's preseason or not that's fun to watch

Well it feels better than a loss even though it didn't count. And it was nice to see both Howell and Milton look like legit NFL quarterbacks and for the defense to actually be the bully instead of the other way around.

There hasn't been a lot of winning around here the past couple years so, even though it was only preseason, maybe this helps the team's mindset even just a little bit.

People can downplay this as just a preseason game, 2nd string vs 2nd sting etc etc. But building a wining culture starts now. Regardless of who is out there, if two teams out there and they spot the ball and keeping score, I want us to win the game and try like hell to do it in dominating fashion.

Preseason is basically practice for the back ups lol.

Though with use going to a totally new defense with a lot of new players I would hope we let them play a drive or 2 to workout some kinks instead of having to do it during the regular season.

Always laughed off preseason other than the fact that I do expect even the second/third teamers to look like they know how to play football. That is usually a sign of how things are run in practice, filmroom, and lockeroom. Frankly, our preseason games for the last few years dating back quite a ways….weve looked like a complete joke. This first preseason game this year our 2/3 teamers including the QBs looked like they knew how to play football, meet their assignments, block, tackle, catch, run. While preseason results are never worth getting excited about, the culture on display may very well be, something that has been missing for a long time.

Now don’t want to get ahead of myself and have game 2 revert back to clownshow….
But cautiously optimistic

It was a preseason game. Why can’t people just enjoy football instead of making fun of the team? Quit living in the past.
Dude......IDK, your post is so bad I don't even know what to say. Chill.

If it was a regular season game this board would just say the real test is next week against the 1-8 jets then complain about that one incomplete pass on a slant route that happened with 6:23 left in the first quarter
When you say "this board"....you mean like 2 or 3 people?

Home Depot guys wearing the uniform in August don't make them the SB champs.

He must’ve been one of those fans who gave up the season after the first drive and switched the channel.
Or disappeared from a forum he posts on mid-October until the following draft, right?

Is there much of a difference? Asking for a friend.

Preseason is about player assessment, nothing more

It's about seeing who is improving and who is not
It's about seeing how players react to game speed & strength
It's about the opportunity for odd game situations (like a goal line stand)
It's about looking at the quality of the depth
It's about which players show potential now and which still need work
It's about trying to stay healthy
