We kept asking what happens without the turnovers?

We found out.

The defense, without turnovers, was fool's gold. Diggs, without picks, average at cover corner. The DL specialized in rushing the passer, not stopping the run. And overall tackling was just OK.

The defense was so bad in 2020 that any improvement got blown out of proportion and we didn't really want to look under the hood of the bright shiny new defense. We chose to rave on about our new LB.

We still have aways to go on this defense but have discovered some glitches in the offense as well that show up when they play a good team.

I admit to buying in. I chose to look at that never been done before sweep of the East with a margin of 20 a game instead of what happened when the Cowboys played better opponents. I also admit to thinking they could "fix' the run game and it would return.

I admit to believing what I wanted to believe. I made that error in judgment of pushing my football mind back and pushing my Cowboys heart forward.

And I do not apologize for it and neither should you. We are fans and I, for one, am a hell of a lot better at selling myself than the owner will ever be.

Do not beat yourself up and use words like blind or gullible, we are fans and there is nothing remotely logical about that. It thrives on emotion and passion and craters with anger and frustration.

Lot of things being written today and last night out of that frustration like "I am done with the Cowboys" or "I am done with football". That's OK, part of the magic of this forum is the venting and I will not hold your words against you. Rant away, get it out of your system because family and friends probably don't want to hear it and we're all used to it. We understand.

But, make no mistake about it, you are not cured. You are just like me, That fish hanging out at the bottom just waiting for the next lure. And my friends, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Nothing wrong with it. But if it continues and you continue being gullible or naive letting your emotion drive better thoughts then it should not be held with as much validity in open discussions or analysis.

Cheerleading from the stands or your couch is fine but let those with more objectivity, unbiased thoughts and sound instincts separating their minds from their hearts be heard .

Yes we all want to believe our loved ones will make more of themselves and we can continue to hope so but at some point you can’t continue to be snookered buying into it.

“Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me “

They actually got 1 that kind of turned the game around..they lost yesterday because the offense was awful and the defense had zero discipline

They didnt need turnovers to win this game. Just not turn it over and cut down on the flags.
