What have they won Bob!!!!
NOTHING!!!
NOTHING!!!
Being knee jerk isn't realistic. The Cowboys should be good.We heard that in 2017 after the 13 win season, and in 2015 after that 12 win season, and 2010 after the 11 win season…
This thinking is part of the reason Dallas is in this cycle to begin with. “Don’t change anything and hope for the best.” Rookies don’t normally show out their rookie season, and it’s unrealistic to draft them expecting that. For every Micah Parsons, there’s a Michael Gallup, a Demarcus Lawrence, a La’El Collins, and a Byron Jones… guys who took the course of their rookie deals to develop into consistently reliable players. No one drafts for that year, they draft for the future of the team. Jerry is consistently hedging his win now for the Cowboy’s longterm future instead of balancing the two. What is he saving the money right now for? What are we anticipating he cuts Zeke to do? Re-sign the same players who brought you where you are now, and then replace the departures with more rookies.
Tyler Smith and Sam Williams may play significant minutes this year, but to expect them to elevate a 12 win team before they ever played a down of professional football isn’t realistic, and it’s a bit unfair to them. They can’t be anything other than rookie disappointments if they not Micah as long as that’s the mentality.
Dallas Cowboys led NFL by wide margin in own drafted talent taking the field in 2021
Avid fans of the Dallas Cowboys are all too familiar with this team putting their faith in draft picks and homegrown talent, foregoing the first wave of free agency to prioritize their own. The Cowboys have certainly built a strong core of players using this method, but their inability to find playoff success has made this team-building strategy questionable.

That would be a problem given we don’t have too many of those. But against Seattle Dak did OK, and Zeke, Amari and Vander Esh all did OK, but nothing mind blowing. Then we got thumped by the Rams the next weekThe problem is that we reward our draft picks with massive deals because they have fantastic regular seasons with record setting stats. We need to be rewarding players for big time play off wins.
ok I will bite.
1. so a team which is only built mainly by draft should have surplus Cap? Why wasn’t that the case start of FA season? Meaning the team is run by Amateurs.
2. Also they shouldn’t be in a position to be blackmailed by an average player & allocate too many $ to one position…which is not the case , since they neglected the QB position in the drafts.
3. Why has the run D not addressed in 5-8 years of drafting ?
4. If the team is built well after multiple drafts they should be consistent in the division at least , meaning dynasty kind 3-4 years of continued dominance , which is not the case, NFL east champions are rotating every year for sometime.
dont even go to playoff success.
Maybe not if they build off of the 12 and 5 season add get better with about 12 rookies making the team this year. They could very well turn the corner in the right direction.
Recent history tells us that the Cowboys are pretty good right now and are the current favorite in the East.History tells us the Cowboys are more likely to take a step back this season than a step forward.
Not just the team's own history this century, but replacing veterans with rookies at key positions - and seeing improvement in their first years - is uncommon.

well being on the field or even a starter does not validate we like our guys strategy.Dallas Cowboys led NFL by wide margin in own drafted talent taking the field in 2021
