We literally do not have a running back

The 4th round is going to be hard to watch, but hoping one of the backs makes it to them

- Tuten
- Sampson
- Martinez
- Giddens
- Blue
- Neal

I think this sums it up for many of us. Those 2 buffoons acting at the press conference like we have a good RB room is downright insulting and infuriating.

I've reached a point where I dislike Stephen more than I do Jerry.

They at least have a couple of vets they can hand the ball to, and after what’s been invested in the OL, they ought to be top of the league or its total fail anyway.

Do we need a top of the line RB with that OL? Probably, but they’ve put themselves in a spot where it can’t all be fixed at once with one draft.

Meanwhile the DT room is atrocious. Probably worse than it’s been in recent years (which is insane) and until that’s fixed not much else matters. Giving out a big contract doesn’t make Osa a better player.

Best it’s going to get from here is a fifth round fat guy…the next Bohanna (and we inevitably hear about what a “steal” we got), and/or a 30-something fat dude who purposely wants to miss camp.

I understand their thought process, and how they don’t want to pour high capital into a rotational player, but until they get over that, this team goes nowhere and gets stomped by better teams with better staffs that will absolutely exploit it, as they have been for years/decades.

Shiny receivers and backs don’t mean much when you’re getting gashed up the gut against the run with no plan to stop it.

We could have had Hampton at 12. We pass and draft a Guard, that they did not need. This pick screams. Wasted pick. Booker has a 2nd round grade. So than they get another chance to get a good back. Johnson available. What does Jerry do. He picks a crippled corner and than does a dance. So now we have three defensive backs who will start the season on the PUP list. This sums up the last 30 years.
OK, you get a running back. But who’s gonna open the holes for him. I wish people understood how this game really works. You win in the pits. How many times does somebody have to explain this?

They absolutely needed a guard. You could say that they overpaid, but if they didn’t have a good trade partner, you draft according to your board. I’ve been hyper critical of the team lately, but you’re barking up the wrong tree.

Booker was going to get drafted in the top 20 picks.

The guard is a safe pick.

A guard can be average, and you'll never really notice it.

A guard will never, ever, take a 7 win team to an 8 win team.

We needed weapons and we didn't even try. 30 years and counting. To be continued.

Hoping for ceilings of performance from the lost to the gained.
-Hope Booker some day can be a Zack Martin.
-On a much quicker hoped for ceiling is hoping Ezeiraku can attain DLaw level play(or was that supposed to be Kneeland last year?)
-Hope for Revel to be as good as Lewis(or was that Carson last year?)

The hurry up and wait draft and develop Cowboys.
A continuing story of hope and potential not yet quite reached.

But mark my words '27 is the year...
Book it.
Cowboys!

Ok so explain drafting a crippled defensive back over Johnson

I’m definitely glad no RB in the first round, if for no other reason they have a short shelf life and it’s not a position you need to pay big money to for production. We got great years out of Zeke early, and then we had to pay him. If you are shrewd and don’t, then why spend a first rounder on a guy who is with you 5 years?

We do need CBs - another risk/reward player in the 3rd though. Jerry did say he has the best medical compared to our other CBs who are out like Diggs. He basically told us that he thinking during the press conference — odds of success at given talent level.

He explicitly said Mingo has better odds than the other WR’s that were on the board, and that RB is very deep this year. A lot of guys can be effective if there are holes.

Jerry hinted at this in his pre draft presser. That the OL had to be there first. Otherwise we're putting the cart before the horse.

I personally wasn't crazy about any of the RBs once Jeanty, Hampton, and Henderson were gone. They can hopefully get a better RB next year in the first 2 rounds. Or trade for Breece Hall.

Ok sure. Barkley has over 2000. Henry has over 1800 yards. But running backs don’t matter. Keep saying that while Philly hoists Lombardi’s

I wanted a running back too, but hard to complain about the picks made. All good players and at positions of need. There are still a few rb options remaining and hopefully we make a move for one today.

Good lord. This forum is full of people who think they know football, but almost every post they make says otherwise. People are calling for RBs and WRs when the O-line is broken. That's like getting a new paint job on your car while the engine has no compression in 6 cylinders. Then again, there are people on this forum who would find a reason to complain even if it started raining $20 bills.
