It seemed a bit callous without further explanation, but we were really saying the same thing. Almost like "meh, at least it wasn't a car wreck."

It doesn't really matter. It's not right to come in to a thread like this and try to say "At least it wasn't this, or it wasn't that". It's a bit insensitive, imo.

But yes, he passed away doing a very needed service for many people.
