1) O-Line got abused, Zeke neutralized..

2) Out coached, we look pedestrian when our o-line gets pushed around..

3) Lots of dropped passes again, we actually could have won with those key drops....

4) ......
Dak missed some targets, yet he wasn’t allowed to run for nearly two quarters due to the concussion scare...

You're right, everybody is blaming everything from from the officiating to global warming. Truth is the offensive line got dominated the defensive line got gashed and could only muster one sack.

Not good enough when you give the ball away.

Oh forgot to mention...didn’t stop WAS from running either. Poor outing for both lines.

Surprised we still had a chance at the end after losing both sides of the trenches and being minus 2 in turnovers, one of them for a score.

Try as people may, you can’t put this one on coaching. Waayyy too many mistakes in execution, from drive-killing penalties (three IIRC), to Dak’s fumbles (one of which came on a QB sneak after he’d converted a 1st down), to dropped passes. And while Dak’s completion percentage was good it’s very misleading...there was a lot of YAC los because of inaccurate ball placement on completions. Improv the execution by 25% and this game doesn’t come down to a last second FG to tie. Improve it by 50% and it becomes a blowout in Dallas’ favor.

As for Dak not running the ball, it’s a known fact that he defaults to Zeke on the zone reads. Maybe that’s the way he’s been instructed for his own protection, but my point is that a lot of times maybe he’s the one making the choice to run, not the coaching staff.

About the only thing I can fault the staff on is the clock management on that last series, and like I said, execute just a little and even that’s a non-factor.

Lose in the trenches, lose the game. Just about every time since football was invented. And for those that think this team is set on the D Line, they arent.

Nothing is working under this team; it would be a dream if one player's action was at fault .

Easy fix right ?

Tough thing is realizing this coaching staff is terrible .
Gotta give props to you, you're consistent. You vehemently hate Garrett and you let us know this about 90% of your posts. lol

I happen to agree with you. They started out with a 2 TE set, and continued that through out the game. It's just hard to throw consistently from that set, and naturally you would like the empty set, but then how will you block consistently from that set? It's just dumb/stupid

The game was close and I wanted to win at the end but if I watched the game without a scoreboard I would have thought we were down by much more.

They beat us up. Somehow we were within 3 points at the end. Have to find a way to steal games like that if we want to go to the playoffs.

I feel like they built their defense specifically to beat us. Not a good match up.

Their DL is great and their front 7 crowded the line, filled the run gaps, blitzed a lot, and dared Dak to make them pay with quick decisions and accurate throws. He wasn’t able to do that very often unfortunately.

Played poorly - one good week - one bad week - that'll get you....................well........................to 8-8.

Yep. At the end of the day, this ultimately was a consistent theme throughout the game. OL got pushed around. And outside of a handful of splash plays from DLAW, Woods and S.Lee, the front 7 on defense did not hold up.

  1. Washington's Smith OWNED our Smith....Tyron struggled the entire game just to get out of his stance in time. He could have been called for several holding penalties. It was without a doubt the worst I've seen him look EVER.
  2. Collins played better than Tyron, but he was destroyed a few times in ways I didn't think were possible for this former stud OG. Yet, the real story wasn't just their DE's whipping our OT's.
  3. The real story was the two young, first round DT's from Alabama. Wow! They are why the Skins defense is giving the league fits this year. They are the real thing....they pushed the middle of our OL back into the QB so he couldn't step up; they stood up our interior linemen who could get no push in the run game. Say what you want about the blitzing or Dak holding the ball or missing receivers (though his stat line was pretty good for a one-dimensional team with zero rush game), those DT's and safeties ate Zeke's lunch. That was the most pathetic run performance I can remember for a Dallas back vs. Washington---15 carries too, so he wasn't underused.
  4. Our DL vs. the run? They gave effort, and Lawrence made some great plays, but what was the real story? Freaking Callahan's blocking schemes were genius; we should have never let that prick get out of Dallas. Watching their blocking schemes in the run game is truly a thing of beauty. They did not have to win any 1-1 battles. Block down or pull around, let your man go, get in position and wait. Our all-world LBs who had made so many plays in previous games couldn't get to the RB because Callahan seemed to have 1 if not 2 OL just standing there, facing them as they tried to scrape. Our LBs either took on the OLmen and were stood up, or they had to give ground and run backward and around to make a tackle 10 yards downfield. I was so freaking jealous watching their run game with a so-so OL and an older, above average RB gashing our defense because of scheme.
  5. The success of their offense and our inability to ever get a 3 and out or even a stop inside their 40 left the punting from midfield and pinning us down at the 10 or 15 time and time again. Until the final drive of the game, when we started at our own 35, I think the best starting field position we had the entire game was our own 25 after each kickoff. That's a tall order against a very good defense.

We can only hope that when coaches and players watch the tape of what Callahan did to our front 7, they steal of the schemes and implement them immediately.
