Quick twitch types on the DL work a lot better playing from ahead when the other team has to pass and you can get after em. Even or playing from behind they wear down in the last quarter. You need a trash can full of rocks to stuff the run late in games.

Hankins and Harrison together are a major problem for opposing OL. Both are massive yet mobile. Not to mention both DEs are also very goodifferent run defenders. NYG on the fly have manage to rebuild a super stout DL.

I totally agree. I am just saying that our FO think differently. FO needs to rethink that philosophy. DL and OL win games.....simple but not sexy

I love that they see the value in wearing down a defense with a powerful OL, but fail to prepare for that on the other side.

For some reason we don't like big monsterous thick powerful dudes on D. I want a huge 350-375 lb DT w a 255 lb linebacker behind him. Our linebackers are on the smallish side. I've been told that we are moving away from the Navarro bowman/ clay Mathews types in lieu of smaller cover linebackers.

i think the combo of McClain, Durant, and Bruce Carter where stronger against the run in 2014. That combo has more meat and brings more heat. However, they had durability issues. If we could get a stable durable version of that trio, it would be nice. Also the old Willis and bowman combo in San Fran was nice too.
