On every game Romo has played in December or January, narrowed down to the 4th quarter. I do believe this will show that the Romo choker crap is just that.

Honestly, those whining need to put substance into their whines.

Show the games that Romo has thrown a pick or fumbled in the 4th where it cost us games.

I have a hunch it will be a very short list.

I would do it myself but I cannot find any place that has specific enough stats and finding playoff stats are even harder with splits.

We dont play in January much these days lol

Screw dec and Jan..every game he's started

We're the last team in the NFC East to win a playoff game, so try again.

I remember many of games where Aikman threw picks at the endzone, getting ready for a score to win or tie. And a few of those were ran back for TD's.

Off the top of my head..I know I'm missing some

Not so clutch
Jets
Titans
Vikes
Giants
Steelers

Clutch
Eagles
Lions
Bills
Saints

I'm sure there are Many more

as I was told last night, since he won a SB, that made those mistakes ok

I'm sure it does in hindsight...but at the time it happens just as frustrating as last night.

Yep. It also makes you better than those that haven't.

Eli Manning > Romo

Dilfer > Romo

Dilfer > Marino

Brad Johnson > Romo

and my favorite...

Brad Johnson > Marino!

This link is a good start.

Romo has thrown 63 career INTs, of which 17 are in the 4th quarter. 19 are in the 1st quarter. He has played 66 games.

He has fumbled 37 times and lost 17 of them. 12 fumbles in the 4Q, and lost 5 of them. Most of his fumbles occur in the middle of the line and to the left. Very few on the right. Makes sense I guess for a right handed QB.

He isn't that bad, but it is the shock and awe factor of the games in which these blunders occur. National TV, playoffs, primetime, etc. I think a lot of this is way overblown. All QBs make mistakes. His are just magnified.

If we were 9-0 in Week 10 and he threw a pick against the Seahawks it would be magnified, because it's the Dallas Cowboys. I don't think it has anything to do with the magnitude of the stage. Every week is shock and awe for Dallas.

true but it is also because it is him. Rodgers fumbled away his first playoff game and no one yapped about it, it was how well he did the rest of the game. Substitute Romo for Rodgers and you know the result.

Congrats!

We have the better QB in Romo, the Giants and Eli Manning have a Lombardi trophy.

I guess that's a win for us.

+1 and if he wins, by definition, it wasn't a big game

I mean damn he beat Manning in his first season as a starter but no one comments on that (remember the late pass to seal the game).

He beat Favre on national tv at night in a must win for home field but alas that wasn't a big game because well he won

He won a must win to win the division in 2009 but alas it wasn't a big game because well we won, same the week after, the real test was in Minnesota because we lost

The whole premise of this thread is misguided; looking only at the 4th QTR for indications of "choking" is silly.

"Choking" happens in crucial situations and can happen at any point in the game.

Well it's not in spite of, but it's also not because of their QB's. Solid defense and very good running games go a long way in making a QB's job easier. But Romo is not without fault. 2 terrible choices last night imo.

so then did Sanchez choke when he threw the ball to Sean Lee or fumbled on the sack by McCray?

Rodgers gets a pass because he has been money as of late, and he was trying to fill the shoes of "his Favre-ness". The media didn't blast him because it isn't easy to erase Brett Favre from fans' memories in Green Bay.

Romo came in for Drew Bledsoe, so he got no such pass. However, I do see your point. Danny White filled in for a legend, he was labeled as a goat in his first season after replacing Staubach. It comes with the territory.

When we win the Super Bowl, people here will complain about which arm he uses to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

I really, really hate this mindset.

It is not even close to that simple.

I am willing to bet that if our defense goes on a similar roll to what that Giants defense did, we would win the Super bowl going away.

Period.

And oh btw, Aikman also had the benefit of having the #1 defense in the league during his super bowl wins. It kinda helps ya know.

This is a team game and most of those around Romo have played poorly when it counts.
