We need Coughlin to have a good enough season to not get fired because if he does you can probably kiss Jason Garrett goodbye to one of our Division Rivals.

Im just guessing but i'd guess that would be the team to pursue him.

Somehow we need the Giants to suck without getting Coughlin fired.

It's still early and a lot can happen, but this will become a concern at the end of the season.

Does JJ pay Garrett enough to stay as OC one more year, then become HC?

Or even if we win the big game does Garrett get promoted to HC?

I'm glad it's early and we don't have to worry yet, but we will be later!

I doubt Jerry lets Garrett get away. HIGHLY doubt it.

We're going to have to do something pretty crazy to keep him.

We may end up paying him more than the head coach or something.

It makes me sick to even think about losing this guy. I've always been a huge fan of his even when he was a backup here.

He is a franchise coach I think and I hope we find a way to keep him but its going to be a lot harder than people think.

Its what the Skins are doing with Saunders - paying him HC money and he has a clause that if he's not the next HC after Gibbs he gets even more bonus money.

Not that using Danny as a model for contract negotiations is necessarily a good idea...

If the Giants tank this year, their DC, Steve Spagnola, will probably get promoted.

From what I've seen from Spags this year, I really like him.

Spags looks like he just knows Jim Johnsons defense real well and he is doing a heck of a job teaching it.

They would be crazy to make him their head coach.

You better be one sharp dude to be able to coach in New York.

Jason, isn't going anywhere chill out.

Exactly, everyone acts like money is the end all and he would just leave because they are going to pay him more money.

He wanted to be in Dallas. He may very well want to be head coach one day. Why does everyone think he won't be willing to wait a couple of years to do it.

I swear some people are not happy unless they have something to worry about

Patrick Crayton - is he a good enough #2?

Romo - are we going to sign him?

Our CB's are coming up injured!

Jason Garrett - he is going to get away.

Just enjoy the wins - stop being worrywarts. I look at SD's D without Wade and I know who HAS to stay here for a at least a couple of years!

You never know what will happen, and Jason Garrett has done a wonderful job so far. And I do think that he will eventually be a great HC in this league. Buts lets not go crazy about how fast we can make a guy HC for ANY team in the NFL with only 1 year as a coordinator, much less only 4 games as a coordinator.

Lets not act like we are the ONLY team in the NFL that has a bright young coordinator on the team.

I wish people would just chill out. This is like the 25th thread on this same topic on the various boards I visit. Its like people think another team can force Garrett to take their head coaching job. It's still up to Garrett to even accept an interview much less a job. Jerry will increase his pay enough to keep him around until Phillips retires or is fired. Garrett wants to be in Dallas and will wait for the chance at the top job.

Whats so great about Garrett? He'd be in over his head as a head coach.

No way does he leave. The Giants are old and going nowhere. He is still only, what 37? He can be the HEAD COACH OF THE DALLAS COWBOYS one day sooner than later. What's a couple years?

That's been enough reason for me to be a Coughlin fan for the last couple of seasons now. :D
