I've always respected the way his eagles team can pressure a QB. They really put pressure on Brady tonite. The eagles didn't get as much pressure on Romo because he is mobile, but the eagles really got in Brady's face, seems like there was always one guy coming free at Brady.

We need to study the Eagles pass rush tonite and duplicate it when we get to the Superbowl. If our defense can pressure like the eagles tonite, then Romo and the offense will take care of the rest.

Funny thing is, we had the same number of sacks against them as Philthy did tonight.

We put pressure on Brady aswell But He completed some stupid amount of 3rd and long against us because our secondary was folding like a lawn chair.

We played entirely too much base 3-4 against them. I doubt that would happen again next go 'round.

Next time Nate Jones won't be our nickelback (knock on wood).

It's funny the lack of faith some people here have of our personnel.

Apparently it's a miracle we're 10-1.

I don't think I was questioning our personnel. Maybe our scheme. It's apparent we need pressure on Brady. What's wrong with coming up with ideas to do that?

I agree. The Eagle pass rush tonight came up the middle most of the time to prevent Brady from stepping up (and into his throws). There WERE some key game plan ideas that the Cowboys can use.

All I know is that Jim Johnson's defense has lost 6 games this year.

Wade Phillips defense has lost 1.

I like our chances in a rematch against the Pats.

Nothing. We did come up with a scheme to pressure him and it worked. He's just impervious to pressure. You can sack him, rattle him, and you might force him into 2-3 bad throws, but that's not going to stop him from scoring 30+ points.

We'll need to do better than hold them to 48 points.:

I personally don't think Wade showed the Patriots everything. That game really was meaningless to us in the grand scheme of things - unless we go 15-1.
If we get to the Super Bowl and play the Patriots, I expect a totally different defensive game plan.
Wade knows how to get pressure on Brady having done it in San Diego.
Besides, the Cowboys weren't at full strength in the secondary with a gimpy Newman and Henry absent. Roy won't be in coverage in a rematch and I expect more exotic blitzes and Newman on Moss.
We'll probably run a 3-3-5.
But we're getting ahead of ourselves.

So you want to hold them to 31 points and still lose? The point is that they were leading in the 3rd quarter just like we were ...... and we both lost the game in the 4th.

Yet we put up 38 points on the incredible Jim Johnson defense ..... and had we wanted to run up the score like the Pats .... it could have been 50.

What really happened is the Pats got surprised by a team with their backup QB starting .... they took them for granted and had a tough shootout. Just like we did last week and against the Bills.

Again, they went to max-protect, brought in 2 tight0ends, because he was being rattled... He got rattled against San Diego last year, and threw four picks.. last year against the Colts, he threw a ridiculously poor ball into double coverage against the Colts that got intercepted on the last drive... the difference this year is he can throw a ball into double-coverage with Moss, and be successful with it a high-percentage of time...

when they were getting rattled this time, against Philly, Bellichek had to adjust and have Brady throw quick screens that Walker ran for large chunks of yardage...

Now see, I like the way youre thinking. I remember the playoff game last year between NE and SD. SD gave Brady all he could handle. And I know it was a Phillips defense doing that. I hope you're right and that Phillips will have something special cooking up for them.

I just have always liked the aggressiveness of the blitz/pressure packages the eagles have had for the last few years. They showed something tonite on how to pressure Brady. The eagles played inspired tonite obviously and didn't want to be road kill. But they played aggressive and smart on D. And actually didn't have too bad a gameplan on offense as well.
