We need to come up with a plan and stick to it. No team is going to have success when they have a coaching staff change every few years. The good teams in the NFL, the teams that win on a consistent basis, have stability at the coaching positions. We are always one game or one play away from getting rid of this guy or that guy.
I am not saying that I am happy with the current group of caoches - particularly Bruce Read - but we need to come up with a long term gameplan, get rid of some of the players that are a constant disturbance (TO, Pac-man, etc...) and keep our noses to the grindstone.
We have a very credible coaching staff. No doubt. Some of these guys are some of the best in the business but this team is not focused on the important things that can put them over the top - penalties, missed assignments, costly turnovers, etc... and until we get these remedied we will be a mediocre team.
I do believe Wade could win with this team if we could get rid of the pre-madonnas. I don't think there are as many on this team as people think but a few will have a large effect on the team. If I was Wade, and I know this is a long shot, I would ask Jerry to let me coach and to please stay out of the day to day business of coaching the team - I know he owns the team, and I love Jerry, but he needs to take a step away. He brings to much negative press to every situation - you don't see Bob Craft, the Rooney's, etc.. on every other Sportscenter talking about the team, this player or that player. Jerry needs to take a step back and be a silent supporter of Wade and let him right the ship.
Jerry acting like he has for the last year has undermined Wade's, along with other coaches authority, IMO.
I truly believe that the bad eggs we have suiting up for us had more to do with the stick bomb that was laid in Philly yesterday than the coaching staff.
It takes time and we have to stay the course. If Jerry truly wants to make a change, then do it and do it fast and give whoever you bring in, regardless of how the team plays, a chance to succeed or this is going to be a reoccuring theme regardless of who we have at the helm.
