We need to run at least 35 times

We need to run all day on Philadelphia. I said 35, but I'm hoping for around 40 runs, with heavy emphasis on screens in the passing game.

40 runs is way too many, but I would be happy with seeing runs in the 30s with around 27 pass attempts, as long as those pass attempts are high-percentage and low risk/high reward.

They better try to exploit whatever the defense is willing to give up instead of trying to force the run or pass.

Actually Dallas just needs to score points either passing or running. Im not too picky how they get them.

Exactly.

Will someone explain to me why they think running the ball 40 times to 25 passes is better then 40 passes to 25 runs? Either way, it's going to be VERY unbalanced.

Whatever scores points.

I'm not sure about 35-40 times. But I do believe that our advantages lie with our running game and TEs vs Philly's LBs and Ss. We should not be spending a lot of time trying to force the ball outside or deep. Obviously you gotta take some shots downfield but the focus should be the running game, screens and Witten/Bennett.

Its how Philadelphia has been killing teams. Everyone knows about their big play offense, but look at their defense, great pass rush, ball hawking secondary, that just forces turnovers.

Look how Oakland beat them? The ran the ball on Philadelphia, scored. And forced Philadelphia to become one dimensional. McNabb through the ball 46 times.

You get up by a couple scores, and you run the ball and these guys. Thats what is going to limit those big plays by keeping our defense off the field.

Raiders ran the ball 35 times. Their time of possession was 33 minutes to 27 minutes.

And they just didnt give up the big play.

Our running game can be a strength, and it should be the way we win here. The eagles want us to pass, they really don't want us to run.

Let's just do whatever works. I don't care if we run 100% of the time. If it's working, you stick with it until they stop it.

...the Raiders were able to play that type of game because Richard Seymour was blowing up the protection on every series...the Eagles have since stabilized their line with the return of Herremans and Peters...but Ware will look to exploit both Justice and Peters...the big play they gave up to Jackson did'nt amount to anything...pressure up the middle in McNabb's face made all the difference...really a weird game...Philly would break off a big gain with Westbrook or Jackson/Maclin only to have the protection breakdown once they'd get near the redzone...IF Ware equals Seymour tonight then the Eagles are in trouble...

Owned.

Well put sir.

I didn't think Woody Hayes was even alive any more.

The teams winning Super Bowls are throwing the ball 65%. Pats, Colts, Steelers, Cards. Are you even watching the league these days? Check it out and THINK.

This game is going to be just like the first Eagles game least year. The first team to 40 wins. You NEVER make it to 40 points running the ball 30+ times. You can't sustain enough long drives that way.

How about we just keep doing what we've been doing the three weeks that, you know, won us three games. How about that?

Look at the perennial top teams just today--right now:
Colts: 40 passes; 10 rushes--------80% pass plays
Pats: 29 passes 11 rushes---------.725% pass plays

Exactly. We have a top five offense...and some genius wants us to rewrite the whole formula.

Never let logic get in the way of emotion.
