The transition tag is useless unless you think the player expects to be over paid. Because the transition tag puts your player on the open market to the highest bidder. You get the opportunity to match. If you decide not to you get nothing in return.

Dak, Cooper, Jones, and thirty other Cowboys. None of these guys want to sign long term deals, because every one knows the players will be getting a bigger piece of the pie in the new CBA. So the players want a short deal the team wants longer deals.

So sign everybody already. We all know the players will get what they want in the end.
