The quick pass in the flat that they kept running to set up a slant... Dallas needs to use that play.

Simple, effective, and gives Cole Beasley and Dez Bryant and chance to make plays after the catch.

Last night was the typical long drawn out routes against heavy blitzes that we've watched kill our team in the past.

Romo struggles against it so of course Dak will struggle as well..

I know Dez might've been open on those plays but our QB can't anticipate those throws well.

Just hit them with a screen to Beasley every now and then on those blitzes instead of just allowing them to tee off.

I thought we were over getting our faces beat in with press coverage, single high safety blitzes but last night brought back all of those nightmares from pre-2014's past.

Luckily Dak can run or it would've been a horrible night.

Last night Philly ran the old recipe to beat Dallas... Don't screw it up offensively and blitz the crap out of our QB because his routes will take ages to develop.

Yeah that game was almost a mirror image of the one against WSH because of that.

The coaches have done a masterful job mixing it up so far this season, but last night seemed like they were trying to outsmart themselves yet again.

They dialed up some nice plays that weren't executed too, so it's not all on them, but we were just so out of sync.

I've yet to figure out why we don't utilitize the slant more often. One would think Dez & TWILL size-speed-jumping ability would make this a nightmare to defend. Those are big targets, YAC would come into play.

We definitely went away from the norm last night.....yet the slant was nowhere

I think if Dak was more accurate things would have looked much better. Philly did come in looking to stop the run and often times Dez was drawing the 1 on 1 coverage. I love Dak and the job he has done but last night he was off the mark.

Lol, well let's not steal the entire gameplan , just that one play. That one play worked against us. the entire gameplan, meh, the scoreboard doesn't lie.

Let just say Dallas held them to 291 total yards while amassing 460 yards of offense. Dallas made some mistake heck we had 11 penalties in the game we helped keep some drives a live including a 12 man on the field when Philly punted which gave them the ball right back. Dak was not playing great but despite that this team overcame their own mistakes. Are there plays the coaches could have called different? Sure but hell Philly was giving us Dez Bryant 1 on 1 coverage you bet I would be attacking that but as I mentioned Dak was not on target with several of his throws. People want to question the game plan or play calling fine but all the dinking and dunking by Wentz was not going to be enough to beat the Cowboys.

I will pass on anything from the eagles offense or any offense run by Andy Reid.

Our guys are much better.

the 30 yard slant is a killer to be sure.

Sometimes posters refer to the Steelers as the Stealers and I'must pretty sure they do it on purpose.

Not in this case though.

Yep, I agree. I wish Dak would have made them pay a little more for single covering Dez but a W is a W.

I thought the same, also thought that game was screaming for hurry up to get the rook to stop "thinking" so much.

Yup. Like we ran against every other team we played this year except apparently the eagles. Big mystery to me as to why.

I feel like we used to run this, but I haven't seen it in at least 2 years. Just like you pointed out, I like how it sets up other plays later in the game much like Lucky's sweep and fake sweep play.

Andy Reid:huh:

yes, Pederson is running reid's offense which is really a version of Mike Holmgren's offense which of course is...nevermind.

I don't like Andy Reid's offense and I hate the way Pederson is running the eagles offense. Just my personal opinion.

I am a big fan of scott linehan.

so why aren't we running more slant/screen blitz killer plays? im really curious.

we started doing some of this early in the season with dez and beasly (i believe) and it was working. y

why do you all think the coaches didnt do this last night?

yes i know we won and thats all that matters but maybe we wouldnt have been in a overtime duel with the eagles if the coaches dialed up some slants. i know hindsight is 20/20 but im curious still.

overall cowboys were rusty and undisciplined probably because of the bye but they got it together when it mattered most.

ugly win but a win none the less. speaks highly of this team to be able to do that.
