teams get LUCKY in the late rounds -- nobody in the league believes that they can accurately predict success for late round players. were the Giants just smarter than every one else last year? No, they got lucky on late picks - most GMs will say that there is little difference b/w undrafted players and 6th and 7th rounders
 
Watching the draft room right now ...

Ciskowski pulling out papers from his file and handing them to Jerry, who looks like he's trying to make a decision between player A and B by reading scouting reports. ... Everybody's shuffling papers around.

Shouldn't they have this stuff down dead to rights in the third round? It looks like they're all cramming for the midterm exam.

Seems like that to me, too. But I guess they all do that.

Probably a lot of it isn't just what player to pick, but thinking about trade scenarios.

We need a WR and Manningham is sitting there waiting for us and what do we do? We trade the pick to Detroit for a FOURTH ROUND PICK NEXT YEAR! 4 picks later the Giants take him.

Everyone who's saying this year's WR class sucks better be right because we'll be playing against them twice a year for years to come.

I just don't understand why we do this.

You are right on the money. Manningham would have been a very good pick at this point. O crap, as i was typing Andre Caldwell went to cincy.
 
Well we are gaining picks, I wonder what we got. Maybe we raped Al Davis :D

I'm not really mad, just annoyed, keep waiting to see who Dallas drafts and we keeps putting it back

this is a good thing, they are gaining picks and they must have a number of players they like.

More picks means guys like schmidt or hillis and blake can be added.
 
I think Dallas thought Manningham/Caldwell would be there at 100. When they weren't they decided to trade down.
