I know we played like crap, and it almost seemed like we did not deserve to win, but we still should have been given 1-2 seconds on the clock by the refs in New York!
The play was not as stupid as everyone is saying. There were 14 seconds left on the clock when Dak took the snap. Often a team can get a 10 yard play, and still down the ball within 11-12 seconds. Dak ran a little further than he should have, but the ball was put down at the LOS with almost 3 seconds and that includes the official bumping into Dak and slowing down the process( not touching it right away ).
My point: the ball would have been put down in plenty of time for us to clock the ball, but the ref bumping into Dak slowed the process, and the ref took about 2 seconds to long to touch the ball. If the ref does not bump into Dak, and if the ref was ready to touch the ball right away( like he should have been ), we would have had at least 1-2 seconds on the clock.
The ref in New York should have called down, and said, the ref slowed down the process. Dallas would have had time for 1 more play.
Also, I think most teams would rather have have 1 play from the 22-25 than 2 from the 40. From the 40, it is almost a Hail Mary, just throw it up. But from the 22 you have a better chance of throwing between defenders, ball is not in the air as long.
