We should have won but did not

Bledsoe could have made a play, JJ could have, Crayton could have held on (ouch), Glenn could have made the play like he did last week but didn't.
That is the way it is. BP could have been more aggressive, ZIm could have been more aggressive. We played it safe, we played the percentages and lost.
I think that against most teams we would have won- but this is Skins/Boys and that rule book goes out the window. Maybe NOW BP understands.
We are 1-1, which is where most people had us anyway at this time of the season. SO we have to suck it up and go after SF.

Good point. Although losing a division game at home is huge. Hopefully we'll still that one back in DC.

If we split with the Eagles, and win in DC, it'll balance itself out.

Yeah, we blew it. No way around it.

--2 holding calls hurt
--Missed FG hurt
--Personal foul on Glover when Skins were pinned deep
--1st half ended kind of ugly
--Bledsoe not hitting Witten on the blown coverage
--Some suspect play calling, especially taking Julius Jones out so early when we got the INT. I know he needs rest, but not in that situation. He is one of our biggest weapons.
--Giving up a 4th and 15 for a TD.

The list goes on and on. All that being said, the skins have a solid defense and hung around, having a chance to steal a win and that is what they did. We have to get over this loss and go handle our business in Frisco. Get to 2-1 and then worry about containing Randy Moss. Ugghhhh...

Its bad enough losing a home game but to lose a home game against a team as bad as the Commanders is horrible. Good teams know how to put teams away and find away to win games like this. Im not giving up on the whole season but they have along way to go in a short amount of time if they want to make the playoffs.

This was a very emotional game that we thought we had won- and we relaxed- this was a very unusual situation. And maybe the young guys were MENTALLY tired by the end of the game. They have not yet learned how to pace themselves EMOTIONALLY.

That could be it.

But it wasn't a "Young guy" that dropped an INT and gave up 2 TDs late in the 4th quarter.

Glenn was the hero last week- maybe BP thought he could do it again. BUT we should have had EITHER Newman or Henry manning on Moss.

I wasn't referring to Glenn.

Roy did not blow that lead. the whole D did. We did not get to Brunnell when we should have; we did not cover moss like a blanket since he was the only real threat.
Glenn blew it - but he should not have been on Moss alone- he is not good enough anymore to cover a WR like Moss one on one. Roy could have done better, but your mania for blaming him blinds you to the facts - it was a team D loss.

Roy was a BIG reason we blew the lead. The BIGGEST reason we blew the lead. The DL didn't help at all with their lack of a pass rush, but Roy got toasted twice by the same play and player. The skins were down 13 points with 5 minutes to go. He should of been expecting them to go deep. Especially to Moss, since that's the only route he's good at running.

Rack wants to blame roy for everything. But bottom line is that Glenn should not have had primary coverage on the only real deep threat the skins had with the game on the line.

Why can't you people debate w/o making s*** up? How did I blame Roy for "Everything"? PLEASE fine a post where I blamed him for everything.

HE was the deep safety that let the WR get behind him on both TDs. That's a fact. I'm not blaming anyone, just pointing out the facts. Is that a problem? Or is Roy off limits from criticism? I also said the DL didn't help either, but I guess that means I'm blaming Roy for everything?

I agree that Roy didn't get it done back there. But if Roy ends up the safety who has deep coverage on the opposing team's fastest receiver, then Roy didn't blow it, the defensive coordinator did.

When it happened, I was wondering why he was the one assigned the coverage. Roy should have been behind the line with the QB, not covering receivers 20 yards down the field.

Bottom line, we collectively let them hang around. We never closed the deal. And we lost. Pretty simple really. Good teams over come bad calls, missed field goals, and tough conditions. We just aren't there yet.

No blame, no excuses. The Skins had the better team and didn't give up. This is why we play the game.

Roy had deep coverage on that side cuz he's the SS and we were playing a 2 deep zone. Moss ran his route from the strong side, so of course Roy was on that side. If Moss had been on the weakside it would of been Davis in coverage.

And when you know there's a speed WR that might run a deep route you anticipate that route and be ready for it and/or you get deeper pre-snap. He was lined up INSIDE the first down marker on 4th and 15. Why? He should of lined up 2-3 yards outside the marker. The skins didn't have the better team, but they did have more heart.
