When we send 4...the opposition has 5 lineman AND usually a TE and perhaps even a back. So how does the opposition get open in formations like this? Simply put we cannot cover. Other than Ware NONE of our LBs can cover...other than Newman NONE of our secondary guys can cover with consistency. So why not just come up with something more exotic to get to the QB. Because no matter how many people we have in coverage we still do not get the job done.
Lastly, I was booed off of another board when I kept harping that teams with the right personell/game plan would expose Greg Ellis as a LBer all day long. Just because we get away with it against teams that stink people thought it would was working. Our season is not about beating the Texans and Titans. Any type of misdirection plays or TE plays or 3rd WR sets to Ellis side WILL 99% of the time leave him in space against a skill position offensive player AND he cannot win that battle.
