Saying this is truthful and saying it's going to happen are two different things though. I don't see many debating you on whether or not Guyton is adequate, just at the likelihood that we are signing someone to take his spot (and for $8-$12 million this year even).

I agree with your assessment on his play, however I agree with other's assessments on what this team is going to do at the position.

If you agree with my assessment on his play then the only answer is to find a vet FA that is better than the last scrub Chuma Edoga that they signed at left tackle.

"When" Guyton was still considered healthy he was designated publicly by the HC to be the swing tackle and Smith to start in place of him.
Fast forward to this year...
The team is keeping Smith at LG and Guyton is the only left tackle on the team. Because Thomas is even worse than Guyton is.

You can't start Guyton as the left tackle. He's gonna get Dak killed.

You don't need some scouting degree or 10 yrs NFL oline coaching experience to honestly watch his film and come to the conclusion that he is not an NFL starter.

He needs to be replaced by a non scrub vet LT.
Period.

I wouldn't be shocked if we gave the 49ers back their 3rd...and Tyler Smith for Trent Williams. Then start Bass @ LG.
