We traded SHANLE for what???

yeah I dont know why anyone is complaining about losing Shanle and getting something for him

the only complaint I can see is he and Fujita looked like training camp fodder here, but both look like decent role players in the system they are in now...

David

Keep in mind WE are not watching him every week. There may be weeks when he's getting trucked, missing his zone assignments, etc - there's no way we would know about that.

Bradie James, athletically, is better than any LB we (the Saints) have. Intelligence wise, he just doesn't have it. This is the guy who, his senior year at LSU, had a coin toss deferred to him, and managed to have his team kick off in both halves.

That being said, Shanle, Fujita, and Simoneau are having some of the most unlikely success as a unit...and I think most of it has to do w/ the Scheme/coaching.

maybe...but they both have decent numbers and everytime I've seen the Saints, they look like decent players

Payton did a great coaching job there...Gibbs is doing a very good coaching job in his first stint as a DC in the NFL...the aints arnt some loaded team...they drafted 2nd overall for a reason...same thing with the Jets

My guess is that he sucks in the 3-4. I don't see New Orleans running that defense.
Shanle sucked in a 4-3, 3-4 or a 2-5 for that matter. Shanle was limited when he was in Dallas, just like Fujita. Dallas still has a "Shanle" in Ryan Fowler.

Do you have a short memory? Like Tiki faking these guys out of there jock straps? Everybody called for these guys to go a year ago, now it's hindsight city. Armchair QB's have it great, don't they? The Saints have a great Dline that makes their very average LB's look a little better. Am I mistaken, or did Westbrook average like 40 yards a carry in the third quarter?

it doesnt do any good...the fickle folks do this constantly...any move thats worked out is a genious move by Parcells, and any move that doesnt is Jerry's fault and he's "getting in the way"

I dont know how many times it has to be said before people get it...Parcells makes EVERY football decision here...EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM...

David

I am with you David. I will have to suck it up as a fan if Parcells is coaching the team yet another year, but I will, with the help of morphine and peyote.

You are most definitely right about about Bradie lacking in brains department. He is dumb and Roy Williams is dumber. And the headmaster of the asylum is back from the past and his only answer on the sidelines during a typical blown play is that hurt look of someone having stolen his lunch pail.

not too worry- that 7th rounder will come in awfully handy when it comes time to take a 5th TE or returner.

Quick, somebody name a team with two better LB coaches than Gary Gibbs and Joe Vitt.

Please tell me you are kidding... I've heard him in interviews and he doesn't strike me as being very bright, but that takes it to a new level.

Seriously, is that even possible? I think I just threw up a little.

Oh, and on the athletic point, I bet if you put both Shanle and Bradie through a combine-style series of tests, Shanle would run rings around Bradie. Bradie is bigger and stronger, but that's about it.

Yeah it's a good thing NFL players aren't required to maintain some level of intelligence.

Correct me if I am wrong isn't the middle linebacker basically the quarterback of the defense. Nice to have slingblade as your counter-play caller.

when I said washington, i meant total team talent. not just defense. yes they have more talent than any team in the league

When you said that, sorry, I had to stop reading that post.

BTW, we run a 3-4, he fits better in that 4-3. So there is no reason for us to worry about Shanle.

Paul Pasqualoni and Vincent Brown?

NOT

yup he wasn't big enough to be in a 3-4. just like scott fujita, who was good in the 4-3 at KC, bad in the 3-4, then good again in the 4-3.
Good enough in KC. That's why he was dumped right?
