Yeah. That was the strike season. The Gary Hogeboom game. My only solace that year was watching the Raiders completely annihilate them in the SB. Lol.
That game made the Raiders my #2 NFL team for over a decade. I loved watching the Deadskins getting smashed like that in the Super Bowl. I get chills every time I see that Marcus Allen run. Or the Theismann interception pick six.
Mos def...had my seasons mixed up but the Raider beat down of the Skins was one of my fave SB moments (apart from our wins of course)...Joey T. was such an arrogant ****!?!That game made the Raiders my #2 NFL team for over a decade. Yes, although I wouldn't mind a slightly more productive start.I'm hoping we beat them pretty convincingly. Another win like Sunday would be just fine by me.
This is a must win for the sake of proximate family and friends this Thanksgiving.
Yeah...Gary looked pretty good early on in relief until some tipped balls undid him...and it paved the way for him ultimately to start the '84 season.yep, until White got knocked out and ole' Hogeboom came in.
The Skins allow 4.6 yards/carry and a 3rd down conversion rate of 46%...they are tailor made for us to play keep away...Commanders are definitely better this time around, but so is Dallas. It will be a great game....
This will be a much better game than the Panthers debacle last year.
Same here...ironically the last time we played them on TG one of the teams had both a high-flying, hot rookie QB and a league-leading RB that helped dominate the game to victory...I am expecting a similar outcome this go-'roundThis is a must win for the sake of proximate family and friends this Thanksgiving.
Reminds me of the 1982 season, can't remember who they beat to get to the NFCC but fans we chanting and stomping "We want Dallas"...they got us and boy did they whip us. Hopefully it's different this time. Stakes aren't as high, but the atmosphere should be pretty intense.
George Allen and Fat, stupid, ugly Buddy Ryan are the two most loathed coaches in Cowboys history. Allen delighted in beating the Cowboys.I gotta agree with everything @plasticman sez'
You can throw the stats/standings right out the window when it comes to these two teams on Turkey day game.
George Allen had a hell'va lot to do with the intensity of this rivalry.
As much as the eagles wish we held them in the same esteem,,,WE DON'T.
Except actually WINNING the SB. Please, oh lawd let that happen. This year, we're the Panthers. Might even finish with the same record as they did.
