Not use him more? It could be argued we overused him, in the return game, making him unavailable for the really important position of wide receiver...

Besides, he was clearly not up to speed with the playbook, you can't just scribble his route on dirt in the huddle...

Not sure Dez was ready to get more snaps prior to when he started getting them. He was a young player and they usually struggle with the play book early on.

And when it comes to Costa I don't think he's ready at all. I think he has long term potential (which means he may never pan out), but no way do I trust him to block for Kitna yet.

Since Barber is out, I can't argue with how Garrett has been assigning snaps with the exception of Young. I'm willing to defer to the coaching staff on that one though.

If anything we played him TOO MUCH. We played him despite him not knowing the playbook. Dez is a terrible person to use the "we don't play rookies" excuse. He got a lot of burn with us. A LOT. More than he would on any other team.

For missing most of training camp and all of preseason he got quite a bit of playing time.
