My first attempt at a mock. This is a wish list ONLY. Reality says, there is no way Jerry doesn't trade multiple times, rather than stand pat on every pick, as I have it here. I would like to adress CB earlier than the 7th, but this is the way it fell out.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure what to think.

I would not walk away from this draft mad and I don't think I would be overly excited either. lol

Appreciate the honesty. If I took the time to come up with trade scenarios I would definitely add a NT, and a CB earlier, as well as another O-lineman. Took the lazy way out though. :) I do feel Watkins could help out at RT this year then slide inside next year if we found another option at RT. Sort of like L Allen in '94, and there is no way I am saying he is the next LA, just an example of a guy better suited at guard pulling tackle duty his rookie year.

B/C they have 3 QB's already. One of McGee or Dalton would have to be released. Thats a wasted 4th round pick

Unless McGee is the one gone. Then we would have invested in the future (possible eventual starter), solidified our third string for this year, and (possibly/hopefully) our 2nd string for next year. Let's be honest, Jerry is gonna waste picks anyway, I just prefer to use it on a potential "player" rather than some guy we cut in camp, or cut next year. Could Dalton fit that same description? Sure he could. You are totally entitled to your Opinion. Just like to know why someone feels they are right and I am wrong. Thanks for sharing those feelings, no harm no foul. It's cool.

I always appreciate a good mock. im too lazy to do them but i love looking at them. personally i dont think people should bother going past round 3 because because people always try to get fancy and throw in a few small school sleeper guys in there like no one has ever heard of those guys but them :p:

overall I would take the end result i think watt and watkins will be day 1 starters and go on to have very good careers . i dont really care if watkins is already 26 years old if he could start day 1 it's the same thing as drafting a 22/23 years old guy and waiting for him to develop a-la Doug Free IMO.

I dont like the qb pick i would rather get another o-lineman like a moffit .

i really like herzlick and house but ive seen these guys projected to go allot higher espcially house.

i like Dalton but i tend to agree....I think the Club likes McGhee okay as #3 and Kitna alot as #2. I think that we'll pick up McElroy if he goes UDFA due to his family ties to the Cowboys organization plus the fact that he has a chance to be a decent backup. However, that's the only QB and circumstances I could see us taking a QB in this draft.

Cowboys expected to work out Dalton

The Cowboys told Andy Dalton they expect to set up a private workout with him soon. The TCU quarterback worked out for 26 teams, including the Cowboys, at his school's Pro Day on Friday. Dallas scouts Walter Juliff and Chris Hall both were at the Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Facility.
It's no surprise the Cowboys have an interest in Dalton. A source in the front office said during the season that the Cowboys liked Dalton, who was 42-7 in his four-year career as a Horned Frog.
The Cowboys drafted Stephen McGee in the fourth round of the 2009 draft. They still are uncertain about exactly what they have in McGee, though the former Texas A&M star got to play in the final two regular-season games and showed some moxie. In one relief appearance and one start, McGee completed 22 of 44 passes for 238 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He was at his best late in the fourth quarter of a loss to the Cardinals and a victory over the Eagles.
Backup Jon Kitna played well in Tony Romo's absence last season, but Kitna will be 39 years old in September. So it's possible the Cowboys could be looking to the future with McGee and a rookie as Romo's backups next season. (Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy's father works for the Cowboys, and the Cowboys are a big fan of Greg McElroy's as well.)
Dalton, who could be drafted as high as the second round, already has private workouts scheduled with the Browns, the Patriots and the Bears beginning next week. He drew 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh, Panthers quarterbacks coach Mike Shula, Jacksonville offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter and Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden to his workout Friday.
"I've been telling everybody, and this is true," said Jerry Rhome, a private quarterback coach who has been tutoring Dalton, "he is going to be still around and playing 12, 13 years from now. That's what I see. When you're looking for a quarterback, you're looking for a guy who can play 12, 13 years. Not just some flash in the pan. He's going to have longevity."

Pretty solid mock, except of course that I have zero desire to draft another QB.

If you are going to draft another QB...

Draft him in the lower rounds (6-7th round) or if you are going to draft one higher...make sure he is a player with a good deal more upside...ala Kaepernick or some guy from a small school that put up huge numbers.

I would not take Dalton in the 4th round as I see him as someone you might use a draft pick in the late rounds for.

Just my opinion.

Dalton impresses at TCU's Pro Day

"He showed what touch he has; he showed his accuracy; he showed his arm strength; and he showed his mobility," said Jerry Rhome, Dalton's personal quarterback coach who scripted the throwing session.
.........
"Obviously, by having a head coach and high-ranking coordinators and other people here to watch him throw and work out says a lot about what they think he brings to the table," TCU coach Gary Patterson said. "He has all the intangibles."

Dalton threw 48 passes, according to Rhome, and completed all but four. The four incompletions were drops by his receivers. Rhome compared it to Peyton Manning's Pro Day at Tennessee in 1998.
Dalton doesn't have the arm strength of Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett, Gruden said, but Dalton's arm is "strong enough."
Scouts left impressed with what they saw from Dalton, who has been working out in Houston since the Rose Bowl. (Dalton said he has not taken a snap out of the shotgun since the victory over Wisconsin.)
"He didn't have to deal with the outdoor environment or any of that," Steelers scout Joe Greene said. "But his ball was tight, and it was accurate. The receivers didn't have to work for the ball. They could catch the ball in stride and advance the ball. That's what you're looking for in a quarterback. The ball didn't wobble. He threw the ball on the move to the left and to the right very well." Dalton could be drafted as high as the second round. He has private workouts scheduled with the Cleveland Browns, the New England Patriots and the Chicago Bears. The Dallas Cowboys sent two scouts to the workout Friday and told Dalton they would be in touch about setting up a private throwing session.
