I have to admit, none of the signings thus far has been very awe-inspiring.

I liked several of the players, like Clements, Thomas, Steinbach, Dielman, but the contracts were just mind blowing from what we're all used to.

I guess that's the norm now until the cap levels off for a year or two.

I'll get a tight grip around your scraggly neck :D

You aren't man enough....I'm about ready to tell you how the cow eats the cabbage. :p:

It is a weak group, you are right.

The one thing that has bothered me the most is our lack of competitiveness from the beginning.

I truly believed we'd have Colombo sealed and done then been able to selectively attack the guard situation.

First with Davis and if it got too hot, get out of the race.

Outside of the offensive line situation, there isn't anything else to complain about.

because there is no one out there to die for in free agency for us to get.

I really don't think you can get much better than Dielman and Steinbach at OG and they were only 4yr vets. Then a do-all LB/pass rusher like Adalius Thomas being available as a 6yr vet. I think thats pretty good and I still don't see why we didn't show interest. If your going to pay outrageous prices, you should cherry pick the young, blue chip guys.

well get used to this kind of FA period. because with the new CBA teams are going to be able to keep their players.

It still has a purpose.

It is like a veteran draft.

What we have done is equivalent to passing on our first round choice and allowing the next team to make theirs. Now, we are up again.

we can still get a deal done w/ Columbo

if that doesn't happen, then I will start to worry, because there are no other OTs on the market that appeal to me, but even then, I wouldn't mind it if we moved McQ to RT, his strength right now, athleticsm, makes him a perfect RT candidate, even though he won't be the best pass-protector, I trust Jeff Ireland and the gang will do the right thing

I am hopeful because he has not had any other visits to my knowledge except for Denver.

If we can get him back the game is back on and no worries.

That is how I feel as well.

generally speaking its not that great of a class, but its pretty strong along the Oline, a pressing need for us. You could possibly say the same thing about OLB w/ Porter

In that sense its a very strong FA class for the Cowboys.

Missing out on that top 3-5 olineman and colombo is a huge whiff for Jerry if that ends up happening.

I just wish Jerry wasn't so careless with Columbo, O-line should be a priority and Columbo should be one of the top priorities, certainly over a punter, nothing against McBriar I'm glad we're keepin' him.

Have you seen anything where he was actually in Denver? I know it was reported that he was headed there. But I haven't seen anything showing he actually went there.
