I like being able to go outside and make a snowman with my son or sled on a hill. Also I was that ***** that thru snowballs at cars and houses when I was younger, good times. Being a carpenter I work outside quite a bit and as long as it's not below -15C I'm happy. I love the heat but hate the humidity. It sucks when the air is wet and even when u are in the shade it's still hot.

The cold sucks. We have all four seasons which is nice. Weather changes pretty often. Mrs. BDC and I have talked about what we are going to do about moving when we retire. It will be south where there is less winter that I know.

I would really miss the smell and that feeling you get when..

A) You walk outside on that first spring morning when it is clearly evident that winter is on it's way out and spring is here.

B) That first fall day you walk outside in the morning and it is clearly evident that winter is knocking at the door.

I can almost count on three guttural "yahoos" coming out of me in a calendar year.

The first is when I get off the dirt road and hit the pavement on my bike for the first time in the spring. The second is when I pull the throttle back and the boat jumps on plane for the first time each spring and the third is about the third turn into the first run down the mountain each winter.

I spent over a year in Saudi Arabia during war time...now I have lived in some hot places before...but during the summer there it would get up over 110 by 7 in the morning...let me put it this way think of the hottest day you have ever lived through than imagine getting into a dark car with a dark interior untinted windows and the windows closed that was sitting in the hot sun for hours now light the back seat on fire that might give you an idea but it still doesn't come close...we had people getting 1st and 2nd degree burns from just grabbing normal army objects...the showers were out in the open and the water was in metal containers above the shower that water would still scald your butt at midnight... you could pour water from your canteen onto a surface that might collect heat like a truck hood or something and you could watch it bead up and dance and evaporate right before your eyes...there was no shade but that what you made yourself, no AC, no pool...the flies were as thick as pea soup and you would break out in a sweat if you tried to shoo them away... people would dump water on their heads and you could see steam coming off their heads and in the end made it hotter...people tried soaking a rag in water and putting it around their head but it would become like a steam bath...you couldn't out run it and there was no place to take shelter from it... it just beat you down.

next up my story of winter survival training and how brutally cold... cold can be...

but the deal is I like it nice not to hot and not to cold

I absolutely, positively hate the cold. And by cold, I mean anything below 50 degrees.

I love any temps from 80 to about 95. One day last summer, it was about 95 degrees with about 80% humidity. I went out to the golf course and walked 18 holes. It was awesome! Hardly anyone was out....everyone had bellied up to the bar. They all commented on how crazy I was when I finished.

Here in SW MO, we have a saying, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a while....it'll change". Wednesday, we had 70 degree weather....yesterday it sleeted, today it's back up to 60.

When it's freezing cold outside, I love summer.

When it's burning up outside, I love winter.
Reminds me of an old cowboy poem.

As a rule, man's a fool,
When it's hot he wants it cool,
When it's cool he wants it hot,
Never wanting what he's got,
Always wanting what there's not.

The cold does indeed suck. Now add to that cold with say 5 hours of daylight.

Vampirism is no joke, ya'll. :(

I will take sunny and 72 every day.

That's where I am with the weather.

I'd even take it colder... at nights anyway.

Do I think it sucks when winter is still here on March 15th? You bet.

But let me say going out for my walk after a recent snowfall of 2-3", with all the trees covered– is about the most peaceful thing you can do.

The cold doesn't make me sleepy. The hot humid weather just drains my batteries.

I was born in Wichita Falls and I like to keep an eye on the weather down there, and let me say, 100 - 100 degree days in a row does absolutely nothing for me. :laugh1: You can't tell me that it's enjoyable being out in that type of heat. And "hop-scotching" from one air-conditioned building to another? No thanks.

I want to move north to Montana or a colder environment where it snows heavily each year. I need to be an Alaskan. :)
