Brutally, brutally hot here in DC for the last two weeks. You can cut the stale air with a knife. Who else is suffering?

We were in triple digits yesterday (actual temp) and it's supposed to be hotter today.

Would you like a nice dose of humidity? Come on down to Florida!

Worst spring/summer I can ever remember in north Texas. I grew up in this heat and it bothers me less than most people, but this year it's been pretty awful. Almost every day is 105 or more, with 108-110 being common.

Record-low rainfall and literally the worst drought category possible only makes it worse.

You don't have to shovel sunshine!

I never complain about the heat........that's what swimming pools, ice cream and A/C are for. :)

I remember this drought prediction because of La Niña last year and it has come true.

We are in the triple digits in Charlotte. Good weather if you want to sweat!

I had a nice time out weedeating and mowing the grass in 100+ temps and killer humidity. Humidity was so think it looked like a dose of morning fog in the afternoon. Was soaked from sweat and towards the end got a little light headed. Drank three quarts of gatorade and did not go to the bathroom till about 5 hours later.

Thankfully a few storms came through and cooled it off in the evening but that just makes it worse the next day.

But as I told a friend...I will take these nasty hot summer days over a cold nasty winter days.

Riding or push mower? Do you bag the grass clippings?

Push mower.

Don't bag the clippings. But the yard typically does not look like it needs raking or anything as I will go over certain areas twice if needed.

It's good for your lawn if you mow it right back into the yard, so good job.

105 yesterday, 111 Sunday and 108 Saturday. Today will be 20 days over 100 so far this year.

What is worse, the drought conditions in Texas and Oklahoma are working their way north. By Labor Day we will be in aweful shape up here.

It'd complain about the heat, but it's July in Texas. That would be like complaining about snow in January in Colorado.

You got a point. I don't complain too much about the heat, but I do complain about the lack of rain.

A drizzle here and there does nothing for my yard.

It is supposed to hit 95 here in NY with a lot of humidity. They say the heat index will be over 100 today. Lots of people here don't even own any air conditioning. :laugh2:

Heat I don't mine so much, it's humidity that I hate. I will take 101 degree dry heat over 75 and so humid that I sweat just standing still.

Here in the Okc metro area weve had around 20 days of temps of 100 or above already with the high being 108 just the other day.
We were already in a drought from basically last year and this just makes things more difficult.
Plus our hottest time of the year is basically late july and august.
I gave up on the yard several weeks ago.
This sucks...

Nothing is worse than Galveston in the summer. You can go for a swim, get out and still feel like you're in the pool. I'm convinced it is so humid there that the humidy factors wraps back around itself an comes to something greater than 100%.
