Who knows if he can be the same guy he was in 2008, but it was worth signing him to an incentive laden contract to find out. If he is even close to that level this will be a huge acquisition.

Totally agree Ernie. I'd say the same about the Yankees signing of Russell. If he returns to the form of his 2007, 2008 seasons, he's going to be a great pick up for them.

I guess we'll see what happens.

I thought the same thing when i saw the Yankees signed Russell. They are probably well covered even if Russell doesn't pan out, but if he does return to form then he's a huge plus.
