Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.

And people wondered why Rhett Butler and Scarlet O'Hara named their precocious daughter "Bonnie Blue"! You are probably only one out of a handful,if that,of folks who recognize "The Bonnie Blue". I changed my previous avatar, the one with the "Appalachian Americans" reference,because I got the strong feeling that it offended some on this board in some way,although not intended to. By the way,the "Bonnie Blue" was originally introduced in Florida in 1810,and was even adopted by Texas for a short period in,I believe,1836.I have a ball cap with a single white star on it,and everywhere I go,folks ask me if I'm from Texas,or a Cowboys fan,and I naturally,and correctly tell them "Why yes,I am...How did you know?"
There was even a version that had the letters TEXAS around the star,and was,if memory serves,the first flag of the Republic. The "Bonnie Blue" type with the single star,was the second Republic flag.
But,with your location being the Republic of Texas,I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know. Thanks for mentioning it,though!
