Week 1 - Bet on Dallas

Week 1 1983
Dallas vs Washington Monday Night
The Commanders had a 23-3 halftime lead.
Rookie Darrell Green ran down Tony Dorsett on a 77-yard run.
Howard Cosell called Commanders RB Garrett, "A little monkey." This eventually ended Cosell's career.
Coach Landry told his team at halftime, "Well, now it's just a matter of pride." That's all he said.
Then - BOOM BOOM - two bombs from Danny White to Tony Hill.
Then a touchdown to Doug Cosbie.
Dallas would complete the comeback with a 31-30 victory.
Walking off the field, John Dutton yelled, "You want Dallas, well YOU GOT DALLAS!"

Week 1, 1992
Washington at Dallas
The defending Super Bowl Champions were thoroughly dominated by Jimmy Johnson's 1992 eventual Super Bowl Champions 23-13. The score wasn't that close.

Week 1, 2013
Dallas at NY Giants
Once again Dallas watched another division rival raise a Super Bowl banner in their face, only to see a WR named Kevin Ogletree stun them with a couple of TD receptions to spoil the Giants party.

So if you have a few bucks to bet on, you might want to consider taking the Cowboys Week 1.
Being in the building for that 1992 opener is a top ten moment in my life.

Anyone who was there knows what I mean. That blocked punt set the tone for the entire season, and that place was LOUD.

I got auto corrected on that. I guess we are not allowed to say their former name.
Yah it’s disturbing, can’t reference historical realities.

Imagine 50 years in the future the team name cowboys is cancelled and when people refer to all the cowboys players and games they simply say the new team’s name instead. “In 1996 the Dallas HorseRiders won their final Super Bowl. The HorseRiders were led by Troy Aikman and Emmit Smith.”
