Week 1 vs Jets Notes/Prediction

Go watch the highlights of the vikings D in that game our O line was horrible,
It was the same o-line behind which he had just had his best season. So what was the difference in the playoffs? Romo folded.

now on the other hand Sanchez has an very good O line and time to make good decisions
In 2009--the year you refer to above--Romo was sacked once per every 16.2 pass attempts. In 2009 and 2010, Sanchez was sacked once every 16.4 pass attempts. Virtually identical numbers.

and still hasn't won anything, oh wait he has 4 playoff wins in 2 years and still doesn't have a ring yet, how great a QB he must be.
Point is, he's come a hell of a lot closer than Romo ever has because he plays better in big spots, whereas Romo has folded in big games.

Again with the stat thing, all that proves is that Sanchez was really good in those LOSES!
Four of the six games were wins. Romo has one playoff win in his entire career.

It's a TEAM game, Sanchez isn't the sole reason the Jets have gotten to the AFC champ game the last two years,
No, but he's contributed.

but Romo isn't the sole reason the Cowboys haven't been anywhere either.
He might not be the SOLE reason, but he's a VERY big reason. They should have beaten the seahawks and the giants, but they couldn't score any points. And then they managed three points against the vikings in 09. He's a very good quarterback until playoff time; then he folds up.

In defense to Romo vs. Seattle.... we would have never even sniffed the playoffs if he didn't come in half way through that season.

QFMFT.

The offensive line he inherited couldn't keep Bledsoe upright. Romo comes in and they make the Pro Bowl.

If you're honest with yourself, you can admit this line has been in need of retooling since 2007 when NYG were knifing through it. Now we have one that matches the mobility of both our RB's and our QB.

It's on suckas!

If you wanted to make yourself look like a complete idiot with this post, mission accomplished.

I'll take your lack of a responsive argument as a concession.

I've been fair here. I've admitted that Romo is a top-10 QB and that he's a better player than Sanchez now. BUT does anyone here have the guts to admit that Tony Romo has a history of not showing up in the playoffs?

Um, no.

In the first quarter, Flozell Adams, the Cowboys' starting left tackle, was lost permanently with an injury. And Marc Colombo, the Cowboys' right tackle, was just returning from an injury that had cost him most of the regular season. His lingering immobility was painfully apparent to everyone, and painful physically to Romo.

The line behind which Romo was forced to toil was a sieve. May I suggest educating yourself before attempting to engage in debate?

Are you actually comparing Tony Romo to Dan Marino? Aside from being a much better player, Marino went to a Super Bowl. Romo's never even gotten out of the divisional round.

Yeah...you're lost. But being the nice person I am, I'll help you out.

I was showing appreciation for your wisdom that the better QB always wins the big games. Try and keep up.

(1) The Jets played the entire playoffs last year without their starting RT and still made it to the conference championship game; and (2) what was Romo's excuse in 2006 and 2007?

Take my lack of a developed response in the same vein of logic that keeps me from wasting my time teaching physics to mouth breathing morons. You have no clue what you're talking about in that post, and it shows.

As for 2006, do the damn research yourself and see where the problem was.

You've become an insulting troll. I'd be shocked if your account is still here in the morning.

You have over 5,300 posts on an internet message board in 2.5 years, and you're concerned with "wasting" your time?

Bwahahahaha!

The typical 'I aint got **** so I'll just insult your intelligence and maybe they'll think I are smart' reply... nice play there.

Well, seeing as how you have 5,300 posts on an internet message board in less then three years, I can understand how you might regard that as a serious punishment.

Irrelevant.

The Cowboys played half of the 2009 season sans their starting RT, and won the NFC East.

Romo doesn't need an excuse. He played reasonably well in both games.

Ok so they were sacked about the same amount of times. Are you saying that both our O-lines are EQUAL???? But that doesn't mean they got to those numbers in the same fashion. See what i'm saying huh, huh lol.
If my O-line is opening the flood gates to my QB and my QB is getting laid out because of their mistakes that's a totally different story from say Mark holding the ball too long or a coverage sack and other things of the sort.

C'mon man you can't argue with that.

This is where I find out if you're reasonable or just a never say die fanboy.

Waiting for a rebuttal.........................

The guy has a career regular-season passer rating of 95.5 and a playoff rating 15 points lower. He's not the same guy in the playoffs, period.

Will anyone admit that Romo has a problem in the playoffs?

Yes, those 6 posts a day are really a huge part of an incalculable roadblock to productivity. :lmao:

Buh bye now.

Oh come on now, he's proven himself to be the epitome of the internet t-shirt fanboy.

That's not even the point. The point is that he played very well during the regular season with those offensive lines and then suddenly played well below par in the playoffs. That's the issue.
If my O-line is opening the flood gates to my QB and my QB is getting laid out because of their mistakes
So let's be clear: this is the excuse for all three playoff losses or just 2009?

You're guilty of crass oversimplification and shallow reasoning.

Romo's main "problem" is the team around him. When his team has played well in playoffs (ie Philadelphia), Romo has put up strong numbers.
