Week 1 vs Jets Notes/Prediction

I'm expecting a hard fought game and likely very close game at that.

I do think the Cowboys are capable of pulling this win off and if they can it would be a very big boost to this team’s confidence.

To go out on the road vs one of the top teams in the AFC on an emotional night in prime time and pull out a win would be a major 1st step to this team and their season

I'm really looking forward to this game.

There you go doing that fact thing again.:laugh2:

Seriously, if there was ever clear evidence of a player being dominant...it the data that is out there on Revis.
He can be beat, but the guy is the best right now....and much better than Asomugha, imo.

I think Dez can get the best of Cromartie, but they may give him help.
The mismatch is Jason Witten on their linebackers. Felix too.

I would say on defense the major key will be controlling the Jets running game. Sanchez is at his best when the running game is working and he can play action off of it. When you put him in too many 2nd and long or 3rd and long he will struggle

Is Mark Sanchez dating adults yet, or is he still strafing 17 year olds?
he is still banging young broads i think

Ever since Cromartie came to the Jets, and Revis was healthy they switched it up(to confuse the offense I think)

Unless it is Peyton Manning throwing to Reggie Wayne. In that case Revis is on Wayne 100%.

He was on Calvin Johnson 100%, and Andre Johnson 100%.

Miles Austin is a damn good WR, but he isnt as good as the Johnsons. He is better than Wayne at this point of Wayne's career, but it was Peyton throwing the ball.

i love seeing fans of other teams understand what the jets/rex are doing. being an embarrassment/loveable loser(i guess) has haunted the jets franchise for a long time now.

you guys will start to understand why rex ryan talks so much, because you have his brother on your coaching staff. rob is going to put some wild stuff out there, but trust me..the players are going to think rob is god, and will run through a wall for him.

is it possible for dware to be better? with a ryan coaching him, yeah man, and thats pretty scary, because he is already the best at his position.

Oh I completely understand his attitude. In fact, I completely re-watched last season of Hard Knocks with you guys yesterday. He has a method to his madness you can definitely see that.

Young I can understand. Was young myself once. 17, I don't get when you are a QB of a team in the nation's biggest TV market.

I like Rex and the ****ing Jets. This is going to be a great game. First of all, those mentioning we should throw at Revis should get their heads checked. Although watching Dez go against him would be awesome. Jet fans may not know much about Bryant before this game but afterwards...they will.

This game will be all about turnovers. Sanchez vs Romo. Whoever protects the ball better will win.

I agree. Whichever team wins the turnover battle should come out on top:starspin

Come on Hos, his job shouldn't matter. There are thousands of young men in their early 20's dating 17 year olds. I dated one when I was 21.

Besides, I'm sure he's just trying to be with someone that's on the same maturity level as he is.

I was 24. I asked out a girl who worked down the street from where I worked. Pretty girl. Nice girl. Great body. Won't deny that I was "intrigued."

Found out on our date that she was 17. I took her home immediately and took a cold shower.

Before I reply to some of the points in this thread, I just wanted to say I think you have a good team this year - always thought Romo was underrated - and I believe the Rob Ryan hire was your best move of the offseason. Your offense is loaded with talent (I've got Witten and Dez on my fantasy team) and your defense can be very good under Rob.

You're in a rough division, but I think you've got a shot to win it. We'll see if the "dream team" in Philly can actually play ball together and how well your offensive line fairs, but I think you're a double digit win team barring any huge setbacks. The Giants got beatup with injuries already and while I think the Skins will make progress, I still see them as a .500-ish / 7-9 team.

As for week 1, I hope their are no injuries in our game. I'll say that right off the bat.

As for the stuff about Revis being used by Miles Austin? I'm sorry fellas, that's just not going to happen. Be my guest and call him overrated and anticipate him being "exposed" - but don't be shocked if Miles Austin has one catch for five yards next Sunday. Who knows though? Maybe Rex has Revis on Dez the whole game...

But I think the game will be close, and probably decided by turnovers. If Sanchez is mistake free and Shonn Greene holds on to the football, I like our chances - and regardless of whether that does/doesn't happen, I could envision Jason Witten carving up the middle of the field and Dez Bryant hitting up Cromartie for a big play or two that could decide the game. Either way, the most worry for you guys should be that young offensive line. Rex will do his best to confuse that unit and get after Romo from all angles.

As I said before, hopefully we both stay injury free and put on a good show. And for those of you doubting Revis, you will find out soon enough he's the real deal.

Good luck on the season, except for next Sunday ;).
Good post!

I think regardless of what Miles is capable of doing against Revis, it really comes down to how much confidence Romo has in Miles ability against Revis. What many fail to remember on these blogs is that in Pro Football QB's have to throw to a receiver who is about to be open, not already open. If Romo's confidents leads him astray, that could lead us to losing the turnover battle, which would likely lead to losing the game. I think Romo loves him some Austin, but gambling against Revis might be a little too optimistic for Romo's liking. I do like the matchup of Dez against just about anyone the Jet's have to offer, because Dez has shown countless times that he can go anywhere and get the ball from anyone. I also likes our chances with Witten against the Jet's LB's and the idea of getting the ball to Felix in space. And while I know it probably won't happen, I'd really like to see what Phillip Tanner can do between the tackles against a top 3 defense; more for evaluation than confidence that he would actually light the Jets up!

All in all, I think this game is closer than most our predicting, but a slight edge has to go to the Jet's because we know what we are getting with their defense. The Cowboys defense, if we our being honest, still has quite a few questions to answer; in particular, rather or not, they can actually stop the run. As for offense, I give the edge to the Cowboys.

Here's hoping for an injury free game on both sides of the ball, as well. Or at least any season ending injuries for the Jet's. If a Jet get's sidelined for the game, honestly, I won't be too dissappointed!

I have never thought Asomugha is all that great. He played with so many bad players that he was the big fish in a small pond. Why throw at him when they have one of the worst rush defenses year after year?

I'm not advocating what he did, but they the girl had a fake ID in a 21+ area, so it's not like he knew she was 17. (Which is still at least legal)

He knew she was and continued to see her for a while.
