What comes around, goes around

Now, of course, that never went through my mind when the Cowboys blew the previous Monday Night game against Washington.

An UGLY win… a Quincy Carter/Dave Campo type win. However, a win is a win never-the-less. This was a win though that had major ramifications for what lays in store in the NFC for the rest of the year. If the Giants beat the Eagles next Sunday (without McNabb, Owens, Fraley, and likely L.J. Smith), and Dallas takes care of Detroit, then Philly will be virtually FOUR games behind both teams with six to play.

The Eagles have landed……………CRASH!!

This was Dallas’ worst showing of the year. Parcells obviously wasn’t kidding when he said last week that the team looked slow and tired after having ten straight days without practicing in pads. I seriously doubt that will happen again.

Couple the lethargic Cowboys with the passing of Bill’s brother Don, and all of a sudden Dallas is ripe for the picking.

What bothers me most is how Bill kept pounding away to the youngsters how they were heading into a hornets nest. I just think that was a very negative approach and the young players seemed to be very influenced by Bill’s propaganda. I would have taken a different approach. I would have said that the Linc will be raucous, but they are still the better team and can overcome that adversity.

Not too many players looked good last night. One player that did though was Keyshawn Johnson. I don’t care if Irvin says there is no #1 receiver in Dallas, Keyshawn made the tough catches. Glenn and Witten got the bulk of the attention from the Philly defense. Not too many receivers in this league are willing to go over the middle and take the punishment like Keyshawn. Keyshawn is Dallas’ most complete receiver. What a great block he had on Barber’s draw play (that set up Glenn’s TD catch).

Biggest surprise of last night’s game: Jamaal Jackson. In his first start, he really kicked some major tail and anchored the Eagle offensive line for 181 rushing yards. I didn’t see that coming.

Jacques Reeves: Great play in getting a hand in there and not give up on that critical play.

I don’t think Ron Jaworski will be running his mouth about his beloved Eagles very much for the rest of the season. JAWS – ****!!!

Give credit to Tony Romo for getting those snaps down for Suisham. Tony Romo looked like he was a catcher for one of Boston’s Tim Wakefield’s knuckleballs.

Donovan McNabb – This guy does not have the heart of a champion. When everything is going well, he is doing the moonwalk in the end zone. When thing go awry though, it all of a sudden becomes a sports hernia. The Super Bowl told me all I need to see. When push comes to shove, he can hardly breathe.

My best friend got very critical of McBriar. Why? He had a lot of short punts from midfield, and put them inside the 20. He did have a 62 yarder.

Roy Williams – This is why Dallas drafted him with the eighth overall pick.

Aaron Glenn – I thought he did well filling in for Anthony Henry. Plus, Henry will be more needed against Detroit than he would have against Philly.

Terrance Newman – Did anybody ever throw his way? This guy is starting to get Deion respect.

Oh yeah, gameplan and playcalling was NOT the problem last night. It was EXECUTION!!! Come on people, stop it with the bad gameplanning and playcalling BS. ENOUGH!!

FINAL ANALYSIS: Dallas won a game they had no business of winning. However, in that hostile environment, the way they rallied together in the end has to be a HUGE boost for the character of this team. There are still issues on this team though that needs to be addressed.

Couldn't agree with you more. Did you happen to notice that not only did Key line up in the FB position but, on at least one play that I saw, was lined up as the TE and stayed in to block.

I couldn't stand the guy when he wasn't with the Cowboys, but he has quickly become one of my favorites. He is the anti-TO. He is willing to do anything for this team, sacrificing his body over the middle as well as staying to block so that teammates can shine. I loved seeing Key on the sidelines watching the defense and shouting words of encouragement.

I thought they threw at Newman on the short sideline routes, but other than that...no. Newman was on his man all night.

Twice off the top of my head. Both short routes. One he deflected, the other he tackled the WR right after he caught the ball. The man is playing lights out.
