Short week...trap game...it sure looked it.
Dallas came out firing with a beautiful eight minute, 85-yard drive. Getting the ball back holding the Lions pointless pointed to a potential Dallas blowout.
Then Julius fumbles, and the momentum turns. Dallas starts looking lethargic again as the Lion defensive line starts playing physical. It became a dogfight.
Probably the play that irritated me to no end was the flare pass to Lousaka Polite. What irritates me is that the fullback ran out of bounds inside the one. YOU ARE A FULLBACK ******!! PUT YOUR SHOULDER DOWN!! YOU HAD IT!! MARION BARBER WOULD HAVE SCORED ON THAT PLAY!! INSTEAD, YOU PUT DALLAS INSIDE THE ONE.
We all saw what happened.
I don't know what Dallas' problem is, but on 3rd and 4th and 1, they have extreme difficulty. Why didn't Bledsoe just sneak it in? He is after all 6-5. Then again, he barely made that 4th down plunge ing hte 3rd quarter.
Dallas just is not ready to win a championship yet.
Also, Bledsoe had a rotten game. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn today. He looked like McNabb, or Cunningham, or Vick without legs.
Dallas also got many gifts today. Gifts in the way of a helmet to helmet call on Bledsoe when the defender hit the shoulder pad. Another gift was the unsportsmanlike onduct penalty on Pollard. That was ticky-tack. Then again, Roy Williams roughing penalty on Harrington was ticky-tack as well.
Another gift was the MISSED FIELD GOAL BY HANSON!! Why do I feel like we are in the twilight zone?
And to boot - Cundiff comes off an injury and nails a 56 Yarder! ***O?
Cundiffs first two kickoffs
Was I the only one who thought that taking back Aaron Glenn's TD, due to a false start (before the snap), was an omen? I thought for sure that was going to come back to bite us. Just like the TD by the Lions following the goalline stand.
Kevin Burnett needs to get the starting nod over Fujita. Fuji is getting beat on the ends.
Kudos to Rob Pettiti for hanging in there the entire game. I do think Moose was right - say that he could be hindering the team more than helping them.
Terrance Newman - is there another corner having a better season than him? That play on Roy Williams was fabulous. Newman will give up a couple of underneath routes but all corners give up those from time to time.
Final Analysis: Dallas won looking ugly. Detroit lost looking uglier. I think the Cowboys have their hands full for Denver this Thursday. With the Broncos getting a vurtual Bye this week playing the Jets, we could see another Dolphins Thanksgiving debacle like two seasons ago.
