actually Dallas was in the playoff hunt and would have been a tough out that year. Roy Williams caught a slant and went about 40 yards with it before having the ball punched out from behind and recovered by New Orleans. All he needed was the first down and to fall down in bounds and the game was over and he got the ball knocked loose trying to score. New orleans of course went down and scored and then dez screwed up two straight plays and we lost.
Had they beat New Orleans they would have been on their way to the wild card. They would have been 5-7 and in good shape ironically. When wade was fired Pasqualoni played a lot of zone and the defense got better over night. Ratliff and some of the other guys up front really played better under pasqualoni calling plays.
They lost a game at arizona they should not have lost and kitna threw two terrible interceptions before being injured and mcgee having to play. The defense gave up a late score and they lost.
had they beat new orleans though I think they would have had a momentum that might have got them to 8 wins or 9 wins and snuck in the wild card round. That saints team was one of the worst playoff teams ever and they lost to a 7-9 seahawks team.
of course then they would have never drafted Tyron Smith so it all worked out for the best.
They were 1-7 and had zero shot at the playoffs. none at all. Tyron.. another wasted player!! What would've worked out for the best was firing them both on the same day. Instead 9 more years of garbage coaching!
