The Cowboys are in the driver's seat due to having the weakest SOS out of all of these teams fighting for draft positioning.

Lose to NYG and then we would want DET, CAR, and DEN to all win so that we would all finish 6-10 and get the SOS tiebreaker to draft 7th.

However, if we beat NYG then we'd focus on the next bunch of teams (MIN, LAC, NE, and SF) to all win so that we would all finish 7-9 and get the SOS tiebreaker to draft 11th.

Obviously, win the division and we're picking 19th at the earliest.

Notable players who will not play this weekend (as of Wednesday):
MIN - Dalvin Cook
KC - Mahomes + possibly more of their starters
SF - Aiyuk

Anything can happen the final week of the season. It's a very unique situation, that they can win the division or have a chance at a top 10 draft pick.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen anything like it

Hate to be that guy but winning the division and getting killed in the playoffs doesn't excite me. Give me the best pick possible in the 1st, and not only that, let me pick earlier in each round that follows.

Rams vs. Seahawks in 2010 was basically the same thing.
I know that was the other 7-9 team, but was their draft situation the same? I think the pinnacle of the duality of division winning and high draft pick came when we had 3 wins. Simultaneously a game out of the 3rd overall pick and a game out of first in the division. Seems pretty unique but the ‘Hawks team could have been in the same boat.

The Rams picked 14th that year, but were a game out of 7th. Had a game or two fallen differently, they would have been in the top 10.
