Used to be even worse. That’s at least part of why they went to division games only for the final week. At least they had a division rival factor there if no playoff meaning.

Off topic but have you checked out the road opponents for next year? I know you travel a lot. Some tough games but some cool destinations….Buffalo, Miami, LAC, SF, New Orleans if they win today. All assuming we finish 2nd in the division.
lol... I hadnt even seen those road opponents had come out yet. I live 90 minutes from where the Niners play, so we will definitely go to that. I would love to go to Buffalo or Miami.... one of those for sure unless the dates are terrible. Hopefully Miami in Dec, but yo uknow that isnt happening. They like to have us in crap weather in dec.

I was thinking Buffalo and Miami since they don’t happen much. Definitely Miami for me, unless it’s on Xmas.

Went to Buffalo in 07. Was a pretty cool experience.

New Orleans is just a staple of pure fun, but I’ve been there too many times.

Seems like we are going to play in LA every year one way or another lol.

SF is possible. Would like to take the wife to Sausalito, which I really like. I went in 2017, and was a little surprised how far outside the city the niners actually play. The baseball team got a primo locale, and they had nothing for the footballers? All politics Im sure.

The way these games are ending up, this is a total bust of a week for the NFL. I havent done a count, but so many games that mean nothing and in today's world teams are just resting starters. I honestly cant remember, but did teams used to do this back in the 80s? Im thinking players would have still played even if they were eliminated back then. Now teams are just sitting starters, and especially for those in playoffs and locked in. I am so bummed that the Giants are just mailing this game in. It makes our game so inconsequential and basically has turned it into another preseason game. What a crappy feeling for us fans.

No way in hell would I be buying tickets for these games. Only a couple of games even matter. Now, it appears the Ravens are mailing in this game, which seems nuts to me.
This happens no matter how many games the season.

t they'll make another couple hundred million dollars this weekend.
I'm not sure about that. With 17 or 18 games, I think it opens up the possibility for more than one game to rest players. Had the Eagles beaten the Cowboys, they could have just relaxed the rest of the season.
Again, that can happen with fewer games, too. I've seen teams have 3 meaningless games at the end of a season with 16 games.

Yea, the niners play in beautiful San Jose. Everything west sdide of country is easy for me. Ill likely do Chargers, Niners, Cards, Cowboys season opener, if they play in New Orleans, gonna be hard not to do that again. Might make me skip bills or dolphins.

Looks like Carolina put an end to any New Orleans trip.

Charlotte is right up there with most boring places in the league. Completely devoid of anything you’d want. Food, culture, weather, stadium, scenery. Been there for two awful playoff losses and Ill never go back.

Back in the mid to late 80’s the Cowboys were resting their players throughout the season it seems. It wasn’t a good decade to be a Cowboy fan if memory serves me correct.

All but one of the games today had an impact on teams making the playoffs or seedings.

I know what you mean. A lot of storylines kind of ended with a fizzle.

Needed bucs to lose to the panthers a couple weeks ago to increase the fun

Is this the dumbest post of the year?

There are a bunch of games with teams fighting for playoff spots. Today has been fantastic already.

Too many games. The League was far more interesting with a 14-game schedule.

Agreed. Charlotte is a deadbeat town. I did a run of Dead shows there back in the 90s and if not for the Dead, Charlotte was dead.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the NFL decided to punish playoff teams for sitting starters in the last game by not letting them play in their first round of the playoffs.

It's always been that way. Even the last couple of weeks there have been meaning less games.

There is no way to force teams to start their starters or make late season game relevant.
Still better than the NBA. You can go to a game at any point in the season and not know if the stars are going to play. They give guys games off all the time just for extra rest
